Adorable approach!
I'm so happy we live in 21th centuary where adapted books are available, especially if you are an owner of E-Book what will make learning process even faster! This man Olly have written lots of useful books. I've already read for beginners and just finished reading the book for Intermediate students. What I really like, that he mostly tried to use useful words and expressions what will be suitable for daily life conversations at work, supermarket etc. I think it is time to start reading books what were written for Germans and I decided to start with: Dunkle Jagd (Schatten und Licht 1) by Kim Richardson. Remember: don't give up, be persistent and constant and you will reach thremendous heights. German is my third language, I also speak English and Russian.

Enjoyable and Easy to Read Stories
Enjoyable stories that are easy to read and understand with just A2 knowledge of the German language. The only complaint I have is that many very simple and obvious words are listed in the Vokabeln at the end of each Kapitel, whereas a few of the lesser known words are omitted (I have to look them up when their translation isn't obvious from context). All-in-all, I'm quite happy with the book (as I am with all Olly Richards books).

Interesting reading, but!
There are a number of interesting stories, but there is a problem with the implementation. New words and expressions are highlighted. Their translations are provided in two places., at the end of the chapter and, in alphabetical order,at the end of the book. When I tap on the word I am taken to the meaning at the end of the book. Then if I tap on the same word I am taken back to the text, so I can continue. However, if the word is used in multiple chapters I am not necessarily taken back to my current text. Now I am lost if I did not record where I was. Very frustrating. Tapping the word should take me to the list at the end of the chapter!

Entertaining stories that are a wonderful way to learn German
Absolutely five stars for this book. This was a great way for me to practice/learn more German - especially since I'm beyond app-learning (and really tired of them). Not to be overlooked are how well-crafted the stories in this book are. This author knows how to write a story - and I always looked forward to reading more so that I could find out what happens.

I really wanted to like this book, but it ended up being a disappointment. While it might be useful if all you want is exposure to the Präteritum, that’s about the only real benefit I found. The stories themselves feel largely irrelevant to real life and come across as flat and unengaging. Instead of motivating me to learn, they mostly made me sleepy. It’s fine as bedtime material if your goal is to fall asleep quickly, but not if you’re trying to actively improve your German. For something marketed as a learning resource, it doesn’t actually feel very effective for learning at all. Overall, not what I was hoping for.

Ho trovato questo testo utile e divertente, un modo simpatico per riprendere la lingua tedesca al livello al quale l’avevo precedentemente lasciata.
