Bought two as walking sticks
I bought two of these to use as walking sticks because I found that traditional walking sticks all had very sharp tungsten tips that would quickly be forced through the rubber tips that I had to replace regularly. I have MS and don't use these for hiking trails but walking on sidewalks and roads which are rough on the tips. These tips seem to be taking it much better. I also like that the wooden poles absorb shock better than aluminum poles. My only gripe would be that the grips are not as comfortable on walking sticks, but, as I am not using these for their original purpose, I don't think it's fair to take a star away.

Quality and Price
This walking pole is extremely well made and works as advertised, it is just the right size, the case is very nice, and also breaks down to store or pack, my wife just loves it, would definitely buy again

Walking stick
This is a great walking stick. Well made and very strong. I like that it comes apart. If you use a back pack it fits right in. I use mine every day for balance

For $20 it's not bad but ...
EDIT: After a couple more weeks with this hiking staff, I've grown more fond of it. Everything I said in my original review still stands but it really is quite useful and I have not had an issue with it collapsing in real world use, where I'm not putting my full weight on it. Also, I have not had the issue others have had with the joints becoming loose and needing to be retightened but I check it every time I stop to take a drink of water just to be safe, so far so good on that account.ORIGINAL REVIEW: There are a few things you need to take into consideration. First, if you're heavy, it will not support your full weight, like if you sit down on something low and try to pull yourself back up using the stick. I'm 6'1", weigh 270 pounds and like a tall hiking staff, so I have it extended to the full140cm, I'd prefer it go to 150cm but that's not the case. If I put too much downward force on it, it will collapse, no matter how much I tighten the collar. Second, it does flex a bit at the joints. Third, keep an eye on the black plastic ferrules at the joints, they're just press fit on and after a couple of weeks in the dry southwest US, the wood shrank and three of the four plastic ferrules fell off, fortunately they came off while I was assembling the staff and not while it was disassembled and in the mesh bag where they might have fallen off unnoticed while putting it in or taking it out of the bag, so I was able to retrieve them and glue them on. In spite of these issues, I used it several times on a recent week long trip to a few national parks and it was quite useful. When I have room to carry a my full 58 and 60 inch long one piece hiking staffs, I will choose them over this every time but for travel with a car load of people and not a lot of room for a 5 foot stick, this did pretty well.
