Perfect for our hot warehouse/showroom
We have a 10,000 sq ft warehouse / showroom space that displays windows, doors, etc. In the Los Angeles summers, the air gets hot, stagnant and humid. We've just installed this fan mounted to our cinder block walls, and it's made a real difference already. Mounting was very straightforward. The fan seems to be built very well, with very little excessive vibration. Oscillating function works well. It's pretty quiet for the size. Also, the breeze can be felt about 50 feet away. Definitely too big for your garage! See pic and good luck!

Great fan for garage/workshop, Easy install.
Great fan, relatively quiet, easy to install. I put this in my tandem two-car workshop/garage w/ 12 foot ceilings to make working in the summer easier. When I installed it and plugged it in the fan was on the low setting. I thought...."that must be the high setting", then I clicked it over a couple to high....man does it move some air! Highly recommended!!

Pivot Pin Came Out of Motor Base the 5th time up the Ladder Trying to Set the Fan Angle
I ordered this oscillating fan for my girlfriend's club.It shipped OK, no damage to box or fan. I assembled the fan and attached the angle bracket securely to the wall about 10 feet high.I was setting the fan with a downward angle of about 30 degrees. No matter how much I tightened the pivot bolt and small position locking bolt with plastic adjusting knob, when placed in the wall bracket the fan wouldn't hold the angle. The fan end would immediately rotate down toward the floor.I was up and down the ladder 4 or 5 times trying to get the tilt adjustment to hold. The last time up on the ladder I was taking the fan out of the angle bracket. My girlfriend was standing below me and I was going to hand the fan to her before climbing down when the pivot pin came out of the bottom of the fan motor. This fan is heavy and I was almost pulled off the ladder trying not to drop it in my girlfriend's face. The first picture with two green arrows shows the pivot pin separated from the base of the motor. I can only assume this was a press fit by the manufacturer? There was no weld visible. Maybe it's supposed to be a press and crimped fit? I don't know. I didn't hold. This was a lawsuit waiting to happen right out of the box.Another issue with the fan is the inability to get the tilt pivot to hold the angle. The green arrow in the second picture shows how the fan front drops when placed on the bracket; the red arrow shows the tilt pivot point. As I said, this fan is heavy, and the tilt pivot arm will only attach one way to the motor support arm. The arm cannot be placed under the fan in any manner that will better position the tilt arm under the center of gravity of the fan motor. This "long arm" installation (third picture) places the wall hanger bolt so far out from under the balance point of the fan that the pivot bolt (green arrow) and slotted locking knob (red arrow, bolt not installed in pic) can't hold up the fan. The pivot bolt (green arrow) can only be installed from one side since the fan arm is cast with hex recess for the bolt head, which means the support arm has to be placed on the opposite side of the tilt arm pivot point.Believe me, I torqued the crap out of the pivot bolt and tightened the tilt positioning bolt as much as possible, up to the point I felt any tighter would break the bolt or knob.My experience made me wonder if the manufacturer had anybody check out the design, assemble it and hang it on the bracket. If they had they would've noticed how heavy the fan end is, how out of balance the whole assembly is, and how ineffective the tilt locking function is.In the 4th picture I placed the support arm on the wrong side of the tilt bracket to show that placement on this side of the tilt bracket will position the arms closer to the center of balance on the fan. In this position the bolt is too short to go through the brackets. This fan needs a redesign.I'm not telling anybody to buy or not buy, FWIW I'm just providing feedback based upon my experience.

Moves High amount of air
Hung high in a restaurant and even on Medium setting it moves plenty of air to keep the diners cool. Great purchase. Love the sturdiness versus typical plastic. Not loud at all

Nearly perfect large wall fan
I needed a large fan that could be placed up high on the wall of our finished 3-car garage. (Yes, this is a commercial-grade fan that is not intended for residential use, but it serves my purposes quite well and is better quality and less pricey than similar consumer-models I found at Home Depot and Lowe's.) The fan meets my expectations so far.Pros:1. Well-built, high quality fan.2. Powerful motor3. Large blades4. Quiet, vibration-free operation5. Relatively easy to install (if you're handy).6. Long power cord.7. Moves a lot of air.8. Oscillates (this can be turned off or on).Cons: (Reason for 4 stars instead of 5)1. I had to buy three 5/16" x 2" lag bolts and washers to secure the mounting bracket to a wood stud in my wall. No mounting bolts included. How much more would it have cost Air King to include three lousy bolts and washers?2. The short pull chain for turning the fan off/on and selecting between three speeds only came with an optional 2-foot piece of string to use for lengthening it. I bought a 2-foot chain extension and a 1-foot ceiling fan chain with a weight on the end of it. Much better than the cheap piece of string that comes with the fan (tends to get sucked up against the back of the fan cage when the unit is running). Again, for an otherwise perfect wall fan, why couldn't Air King include an optional chain extension?3. They include a long steel cable and hardware that is supposed to be used for connecting the top of the fan cage to an overhead I-beam for additional safety (secondary support in case the fan falls off the wall). Unless you don't install the fan correctly, it isn't going to fall. (I'm sure this is a legal cover-your-butt move on Air King's part; I doubt many people will actually install this safety cable.)4. Air King includes three tiny Nylon wire ties. Come on! What are we supposed to do with these? You really want to tie the power cord back against the wall mounting bracket to keep it from hanging straight down from the middle of the fan motor. I had to use my own long, heavy-duty wire ties to accomplish this.Other than these relatively minor cons, I like the fan. I believe it will give us years of trouble-free operation.

DOA
The fan was dead on arrival and took all summer to get replacement parts. I would not recommend anyone buy this fan.
