Heavy and robust.
Well-made, heavy and robust. Just the thing for hammering steel. In a pinch, the thing would make a formidable weapon, too. It's forged in one piece from a single steel billet. Pleased with the purchase.

Balance, TPU handle
I changed to Estwing many years ago. They don't chip, outlast most others, the TPU handle is non slip. Is it worth the money ? Yes ! 8oz is small but packs a good punch.

Sloppy quality control on a premium product
I don't think I'm alone on this as other buyers have reported similar grinding defect issues. Such poor grinding and finishing wouldn't be acceptable on a ยฃ5 hammer let alone a ยฃ35 one. I could have set about rectifying it myself but why should I ? - it has been returned. Come on Estwing, you claim to have been making hammers for 100 years but appear to have learnt nothing in that time.
