The Great Adventure Catholic Bible (Paperback)

Excellent edition of bible. Easy to read, Jesus' word highlighted in red, many footnotes of explanation. A really good Catholic bible.

Classic, timeless, as described, arrived in good condition. Great value!

Bought this bible to use along with my Hallow app and the bible in a year series. I absolutely love how this bible is laid out, it is colored so that you know what time frame goes with what. This bible is great in general, but it is really laid out to use with the bible in a year with Father Mike. It is laid out like a regular bible but color coded so you follow it as the timeline of the bible happened. Not a lot of space to write notes, and if you are wanting a bible and a devotional in one this not the bible for you, as there is not a lot of extras such as devotionals. But lots of maps, and info about the timeline of the bible. I am getting this for my mom so she can use it with the bible timeline. Really love the feel of it also....such a great bible!!

This is a beautiful bible! If you follow the reading timeline for bible in a year, you’ll gain a wonderful appreciation for God’s word. The timeline layout is brilliant to carry you through the bible. I have read and studied the bible for many years- but this particular bible and the guidance in reading brings my study and appreciation to a new level. This is a must-have if you’re doing Fr. Mike’s Bible in a Year program! I have done the program twice. The first time, I did it just by listening. The second time, I bought this Bible and it greatly enhanced the experience by being able to follow along. I now understand the Bible better than ever before! I also purchased the Bible tabs that go with this and they are really nice to have as well.

Excellent study book and easy to comprehend.

Great bible but keep in mind that the paperback is flexible cardboard, like all paperbacks. It is not the blue flexible leather that is seen in pictures of reviewers, which is the one I expected to get. Ascension must’ve initially published 2 versions (tier 1 hardback and tier 2 flexible leatherette). They must have replaced the tier 2 “flex leatherette” version with a tier 3 paperback. My only gripe about this is that the new paperback looks like a college text book and not a bible. It Doesn’t have the ribbons and does not look Iike the reverent book it should. I returned it due to this. Keep I mind that there is no difference between hardback, flex leatherette, and paperback other than the exterior. So if you want to save money, get paperback. However, If you want a Bible that you plan on keeping for posterity, get the hardback or leatherette. Due to this, I ordered the “flex leatherette” version from the EWTN website and love it. It was hard to find but EWTN has a few of the tier 2 “flex leatherette” editions which were discontinued. The price was about the same as a hardback but it’s lighter, which I like.

The Bible with tabs printed directly on the page--love it and use it with my Ascension courses. I still pull out my NABRE version of the Bible to compare it with this RSV version, but I certainly don't have to. Even though I have a Bible Timeline that came with one of my courses I appreciate that it is also printed, by section, into The Great Adventure Bible; I have a second edition soft cover, and it has, also, held up well to travel.
