Q: What is the maximum horizontal distance for the mounting hole locations on the wall? Hopefully at least 32" to span studs on 16" centers in the US.

Q: Are the holes on the brackets actually along the diagonal leg of the two brackets? Holes must be on the flat leg of the brace for the A/C to sit level

On flat leg. Flimsy China junk...build your own...holes didn’t fit mini splits,,,

Q: most larger mini split units want 12" of rear clearance, does one exist? Also, WHY do they advertise it folds? this 100% doesnt matter!

Folds? Don’t know about that. It bolts together as a single unit. You will never get 12 inch clearance with this, more like 5 inch. Your mounting feet can be no farther apart than 12 inches front to back.

Q: What grade of stainless is this product

I can't say what grade stainless steel the mount is but it is non magnetic and I installed it about 4 month ago outside for a 24,000 BTU mini split and there are no sings of any rust at all. The same goes for all the suppled mounting hardware. I highly recommend this mount it is far better and less expensive than any painted mount that will eventually rust.
