2000 Most Common Chinese Words in Context: Get Fluent & Increase Your Chinese Vocabulary with 2000 Chinese Phrases

This book's title appeals to "most common #words#", and what they do is to fill it with individual characters, but in every example the use of the character is in its natural form, accompanied by the other characters that made a usual or natural word, this is basically the misconceptions. The errors usually are to highlight the wrong words in the translation.

A really great book with the most used words in Mandarin, all numbered 1-2000, together with characters, Pinyin and an example sentence for each word to show it's use in context. Definitely recommend it if you are a beginner-intermediate learner.

Matig boek, maar ik hou het boek wel. Het zijn korte verhalen. De woordkeuze is niet zo goed. Bij de laagste niveaus worden woorden gebruikt die bijna niet voorkomen. (Laagfrequent). Het is ook lastig om in de Engelse vertaling iets op te zoeken. De vertaling staat verderop en het is speuren naar de zin die je zoekt/ naar het woord dat je zoekt. Verder ontbreekt een woordenlijst. De serie 'storybook' van B.Y. Leong is beter. Daarvan heb ik meerdere delen. In die boeken hebben ze de teksten opgedeeld.

A good book for learning words and seeing where they fit into a sentence. I would buy this book as an addition to one for beginners. (Update Review) After going through this book with a Chinese language partner I can highlight some issues for example although good for practicing pronunciation and increasing vocabulary, there are no commas to seperate which words in each sentence are spoken together and which are not, meaning unless you can mark them out yourself then your spoken Chinese will not sound correct. Also you must realise that other than for speaking practice many of the sentences you would never use in real life in any possible context. Overall its a only a good book if you have somebody to help you seperate each sentence into the correct grouping of words because they have not done it.
