Very durable and very comfortable, even in the cold.
As an Army Veteran I have nothing but praise for these shoes. I currently have two pairs, lows and mids. Being that this review is for the mids, I will refrain from mentioning too much about the lows. First off is the durability. I still train today very hard with range drills (desert terrain, rocks, cactus, ect.) and these shoes have shown no signs of wear with the exception of some deep scratches on the bottom of the soles. They have been through hot dry conditions, wet, sand, mud, snow and just about everything else and have kept my feet comfortable and protected with the exception of the snow, but neoprene socks are the key to that. They dry quickly, and wash very easily in either a washing machine, or just wear them in the shower. Secondly, they are very comfortable. I have worn boots from Bates, Belleville and 5.11 and naturally they are heavy. These are lighter than most running or cross trainer shoes, and reduce felt fatigue on the top of the foot, calves and ankles. The padding at the top of the shoes keeps dirt and mud out while maintaining comfort without blisters. The rubber insoles do not provide much arch support much like Converse shoes, however they are easy to remove and swap with insoles that provide support if needed. The upside of the rubber insoles is they dry quickly, preventing the shoes from retaining sweat and smelling like roadkill after several consecutive range days in 100+ degree weather. The appearance of the shoes doesn't not scream "tacticool", and retain a more conservative appearance than anything. The multicam and black multicam print is not heavily pronounced, but neither has seemed to fade or distort in anyway. As far as shoes are concerned, I will not purchase another brand and am waiting for my kids to grow into the appropriate sizes as these will outlast any big brand tennis shoes by leaps and bounds.

Great shoes for water activities
I got these to take to the Outer Banks to use in the sound, and they performed quite well. I took a fairly long hike, both in and out of the water, and they were comfortable and shed water easily from the side drainage holes. I did add some Lycra dive socks to help prevent chafing and I think they are a worthwhile addition, as they add very little bulk and dry quickly. Overall I am very happy with these, as they kept me from having to worry about stepping on any stingrays or random detritus.

Overall a Great Shoe
I ordered the all Black size 11 high tops, and right away I loved the look, and after a brief period of breaking them in +/- about a week or 2, maybe a little more, they feel great! I would / will order them again, as I like them a lot. Yeah they are a little bit expensive. But if after a year theyre still holding up to how I rough up and wear out sneakers, I will will consider it worth it. They definitely have a Great non-slip sole, and even non-slip insoles, so your feet do not slip around while wearing them (for if you went swimming in them, since that's what they're designed for it makes sense to have a non slip insole). Now at first I thought the toe box was going to be a little too tight, and for a week it seemed that way, and sadly considered returning them to exchange for the wide size, but I had already wore them outside, and figured I'd just deal with it. And I'm glad I kept this size and width, because now they're not tight at all. They fit perfectly, and as you continue to wear them, the full covered rubberized toe guard breaks in and softens up nicely, just give it time. If after 3 weeks or a month they still feel tight well then, maybe you needed the wide version. I plan to buy other colors and styles. Altama might just be my new go to brand for rugged sneakers.

6 month update
6 month update, still love them great on most surfaces, I have noticed on wet concrete the traction is still there and seems to get a little better. It's not a slip and slide mess. I added a few more pictures some of the stitching is coming up but I have not noticed an issue because of it. There is no glue separation from the toe rubber to the edge of the shoe. I think based on my neutral stance / interview stance the tread is wearing a little different on my drive brace leg side. I have ran in these, hiked in these in tough mountain terrain with lava rock, I've walked in rivers and along lakes on wet river rock no slip, they dry fast and I was a little hesitant that I would feel sharper rocks on the souls but I dont. I actually stepped on a roofing nail and dont know how long it was in the soul that day until I heard a clicking sound on the asphalt. I honestly do like them. I feel moble and agile in them. I like these boot shoes and they are holding up. So far 4 folks on my squad have switched to them as well. They are a true fit to size. First impression review. I just got off duty. I did alot of walking around today. Today I worked 13 hours but I had boots on for 15 of those house. I got home and my new Altama's were waiting at the door for me. I pulled them out of the box, looked at the stitching and then looked where the toe rubber connects to the cloth. It all seems real stout. Next I pulled the tissue from the shoes took my boots off. Which felt good in the first place. I tossed the new Altamas up in the air a few times, highly impressed with how light they are. I sat down on the couch and put them on. I was beside myself how COMFORTABLE they were after a 13 hour work day and a 15 hour day of wearing boots. I happily walked around and sent some of the guys on my squad a picture, stating they are finally here and I love them. They are truly comfortable. I'm impressed. Let's see if I can figure out how to do a review here in a few weeks and then again in a few months. If I like them I'm gonna talk my wife into letting me buy two more pairs. I want the multi cam for hiking around the woods at my cabin and if I can talk my SRT, team leader into the coyote I'll get one of those for wearing on the team. So far so good but mind you I've only been I possession of them for for 2 hours. Send me questions if you have them and I will update you. I ordered 9.5W because that's what I wear and they fit perfectly. Order to size.

Well made and comfortable.
These were purchased because of severe neuropathy in both feet. I’ve tried lots of different shoes and so far these are the most comfortable. I can’t say they will work for others because we are all different. They are well made and I can wear them all day. I’m going to purchase another pair just to have a second pair. I wear size 11 and these fit perfectly.

Tacticool accessory only - does not hold up to dynamic environments
Everything about the fit of the shoe and the flat plane of the arch was as i’d hoped - great stability and traction. The sole construction however is something that should never have been advertised as even close to military/leo suitable. I wore these as gym shoes and the stitching in the toe started to go within a week, allowing the threads to flap around in the shoe as i walked/ran/rucked etc... by the time i had broken the shoes in so they could be worn for some actual training, the toe needed to be glued to keep the stitches from full-on falling out. These are only a few months old, and already the midsole is starting to go. Get converse or something if you like the shoe style, but avoid these - they will fail you and start falling apart the day you no longer need moleskin for them. Update: 01/31/2020 - after silicone glueing the canvas and rubber together where the stitching failed, these boots lasted a long while. I would have recommended them or bought them again myself if they were ever to fix that problem - it is a glaring issue, but i liked them otherwise. Essentially the 1911 of footwear: i like them a lot, but the reliability issue is not overlookable. Second update 6/21/20: at the insistence of a friend, i gave these shoes a second chance and bought another pair - the second pair stood up to significant abuse and daily wear, and did not fall apart like the first pair did. After doing some digging and inspecting the first pair side by side with the second, it’s pretty apparent that there must have been a significant problem with the stitching on the first pair and perhaps there was a machine malfunction when they were being constructed, as the second pair did not have the rats nest of loose strings under the insole that the first pair did. I would recommend these for anyone who is active and demands a lot from their footwear - just be sure to pull out the insole and check that the stitching is squared away, and you should be good to go.

Great when broken in.
Break them in. Once broken in they are great!

Great shoes! Look great! Needs to be broken in.
Just received the shoes today. They are great! Can't wait for them to be broken in. They look great. They hurt your feet at first but just need to be broken in. The bottom are rubber so they have good traction. Let's see if they hold up and last.
