Great Information
In the world of information and knowledge, Peter Hollins is my go to guy! He has written a wonderful collection of books that are well worth the effort of reading. Admittedly, there are some grammatical errors and overlapping of other sources, but Hollins manages to take what many would consider heavy research and rather dry information and turn it into a concise, informative learning opportunity. I recently retired after over 40 years in the field of education and so much of what Mr. Hollins writes about was only theory and speculation when I started. Over the years, I tried to incorporate my research in neuroscience into actual practice in the classroom. Thanks to Peter Hollins for providing so many great refresher ideas for all educators to implement.

Learn to learn with this boll
I gave this book because it provided answers to questions regarding learning I've been searching for in a easy to understand and memorable manner, as well as help me raise more questions which is a big part of learning.I liked the structure of the book and the references used to get the point across.I recommend this to anyone who wants to make the learning process more interesting, creative, engaging and effective.

I expected less
Short format videos are working wonders on my attention span.I expected a more quick to the point book with a few tips on how to easier learn and retain. In other words, a quick read.Instead, this is a proper book, that goes deeply into many learning concepts, prevailing schools of thought, and research findings. Simms of the ideas put forward felt like repeats of others, but that is to be expected honestly.Halfway through, it felt like too much. But the author really presents different ways of doing things, and wants you to explore them to find what works best for you. What I really liked were the summaries at the end of each chapter, and I was pleasantly surprised with the summary at the end of the book.I've already implemented some of the suggestions and noticed improvements in my retention. My plan is to review my notes and highlights, create a simple plan that works for me, and use it going forward.Side point - if you are a parent, this book can help you make better decisions regarding your kids learning. Same if you're a mentor, manager, tutor, etc.

Concise Distillation of Effective Learning Strategy Research
I was reading a book on learning research from another author, but found it to be very exhaustive and alot to go through. This book also contains research done on the subject of learning, though Im not yet done with the book, and am passing back and forth presently through the interleaving process, ha!I have an important professional licensing exam coming up and simply ran out of time to apply what Im learning in the other author's book on the subject. I feel that my study techniques I've struggled with my whole life comprised of the 5 less effective and mostly poor learning models reviewed by The Dunlosky study in 2013. Writing this was actually an exercise to comprehend and remember some of what Im learning from this book, for more cognitive growth through active application. I always considered myself a very slow learner. Now I'll be able to go through the exam prelicensing course material without fear. It seems like studying is slowing down, because it does take more effort, though its effort that will implant more fluid and useful memory. Im just now learning to study actively rather than passively, which will result in deeper learning connections for future use. This contrasts reading a book and forgetting 70% of what I just read. Thank you so much Peter Hollins! Keep up your work!

Tricky at first but well worth the time
If learning is something that truly interests you and you are interested in maximize your learning skills to it's fullest potential this is the book for you.The book has realistic concepts with real life examples and explanations. The author spends more time explaining the concepts similar to a teacher and sprinkling relevant example. .I personally used a bit of YouTube to navigate some concepts I had trouble understanding. So at the very least it's efficient as a guide to learning as well as a teacher.

Book is in need of an editor.
Okay, I tried finishing the book, but I just couldn’t. I loved how it started, but it was just downhill from there. Not only is there an abundance of grammatical and redundancy issues, it feels the author is emptily repeating advice from other sources without adding anything of value. I also want to point out that there are in-text citations without references for those citations to be used. Strange? Yes. In college, this is known as plagiarism. If this was really research, there would be a page dedicated for sources from which the author gathered info, but there’s only a “summary page.” Even worse, the author claims to have a Master’s in Psychology, a field known for its rigorous demands for research and efficient writing skills, but fails to show any of those skills within the book. I’m very disappointed because the material for the book cover is well-made, but the formatting and everything inside is just poorly put together. Also, the amount of 5-star reviews with repetitive praise is pretty suspicious, let alone this being my third attempt of trying to post my review. Please do yourself a favor and save your money.

Great book
It has taught me different strategies and gave me options on how to go about learning. I wish this has been presented or taught before I entered my formal education. Nevertheless it is never too late to apply this to your everyday acquisition of knowledge.

Overall basic read
This book is good for a student struggling with taking notes or effective studying but for myself I found it was fairly basic. Although there were concepts that I picked up and use in my daily study’s now. Short easy read.

Ottimo libro

Awful print quality
It looks like the book was printed in a garage on a second-hand printer. Definitely doesn't worth the money paid. It says it was printed by Amazon, so ... I am not gonna buy any books printed by Amazon any more, unfortunately.
