Bmw R1200RT Comfort Seat

looks absolutely fantastic on the r1200rt.It's wide and comfortable. I loved everything about it for a little while. Pillion comfort is second to none.so why the low rating?The seat uses thin stitching thread. My 13 year old daughter likes to ride with me. Since the bike is so tall, she usually rakes her shoe across the seat while she is mounting the bike. That's all it took to break a thread. 2 days later, it had totally come unraveled at one seam. fixing that was going to require complete removal of the upholstry, and I was told that because of the way the lumbar rest is mounted in the seat, it may never look the same again. it didn't.Craftsmanship is very poor and materials are of very low quality.You can get a custom leather bench seat from corbin for less money with a lifetime warranty, better materials and hand-crafted quality that shows that someone cared about not ripping off the consumer.

Seat has proven much more comfortable than the original low seat that came with my BMW motorcycle. It was simple to install and has allowed much more of a riding range before having to stop and stretch.
