Bought for a 10 year old boy. He was very excited to learn the science behind each project and even if he doesn't realize it now, the projects are very useful and provide basic skills for life!A different gift that keeps kids away from electronic games for a while and expands their interest in science.

Complete waste of money. Package had some sort of moisture inside which was odd because none of the ingredients were liquid. It was not water either. The items included for the experiments were shortchanged or compromised. See the iron fillings picture which called for 1 tablespoon. They even got cheap and downsized the clear plastic bowl for the compass which prevented that experiment from working. What a ripoff and disappointment. Lookup the experiments on YouTube or social media and save your money. I couldn’t be more disgusted.

I purchased this for my grandsons fourth birthday. It’s perfect for him and his six year old sister.

I bought this for our 9yo son. He really enjoyed putting the compass together and it worked. It was easy enough for him to do the experiments on his own.

I would not recommend this product. For some reason the items inside the sealed plastic bag were wet with a liquid. There was nothing in the bag which was a liquid so it was not a leak of an item in the bag. No idea what it was or how the liqud got in there. I see that someone else had the same problem so I suspect a manufacturing defect. In any event, we had to throw the entire package away. Not a good quality product.

This is a poorly designed set of four experiments. The water filtration experiment did not work because of poor quality materials and the compass would be a failure in the wild. We need a refund and an apology from the company for wasting our time.

I bought this exact box at an airport, not from Amazon. The instructions were frequently incorrect. To make the handwarmers, the instructions said to add 1/4 teaspoon jelly crystals to one cup water and wait a few hours for the water to be completely soaked up. That never happened. We were to add one Tablespoon iron filings. Only 1/2 Tablespoon iron fillings were provided. The instructions for the water filtration system were incorrect and incomplete. We still poured the water through the gravel, sand and carbon, but ended with yellow water. My 8 and 11 year old grandchildren were excited to do the experiments and very disappointed they didn't work.
