DO NOT BUY!!
The aesthetics of this speaker is really nice. They look amazing. Unfortunately, this is where the quality stops. From the first moment I set the speakers up, a horrible crackling sound interferred with the right speaker, even at the lowest of levels. It cannot handle any song with any form of bass in it being outputted from my laptop, so how these will be able to cope when I connect them to my decks is beyond me. Repackaged and returned on the same day. Please avoid

Cracking little monitor speakers
So to start I have a Hercules 500 inpulse controller & a laptop on a stand + these little beauties on a table top. The best points for me about these are that they are compact, they sound good up to about 3/4s the way up the volume scale which will fill an average sized room with sound. I like that they are ported on the back to improve the sound quality. Used them for New Years Eve this year in our lounge and they worked well but wouldn't recommend for a large room as maybe slightly underpowered @ only 15W RMS.The lights for me are for the most part good and an added bonus to these speakers.Personally I like Hercules equipment their DJ controller is incredible value by the way so there won't be too many bad points but if i were to improve these speakers these would be the changes I would make to improve them. I would uprate the speakers slightly as they do distort a bit at higher volumes. The remote for the lights is to say the least temperamental & I would control both speakers from one signal not independantly as the remote can be annoying when one speakers lights are on and you have to fiddle to get both lights on or off with the remote. I would of liked a slightly longer USB connecting cable as this is your limiting factor on seperating these speakers if i'm being very picky. I would also like to see an EQ level on these but then this would obviously increase the price on what are basically entry level speakers I guess? But in conclusion fab little monitor speakers for home use and I would definately recommend them to somebody looking for shelf sized speakers & for home DJing also.

Have to turn the lights off every time
The only thing I'd fault is the lights. They can be garish depending on their environment. I don't want the lights every time I use them - in fact, more often or not I don't want the lights. So, they should really be off by default with the option to turn them on, not the other way around. Otherwise, they are fine.
