Panda Natural Licorice Chews 7oz (Pack of 4)

I used to hate black licorice. Then sometime over the years I ended up liking it but I never think to buy any. The other day my husband mentioned that he loves black licorice (I think we saw some on tv). Oh ya, I'd forgotten about that and since I try to cater to his every desire (haha!) I decided to look at Amazon for licorice. I ended up buying a small bag of this one, Panda Natural, and one of Wiley Wallaby Australian Gourmet Style Black Licorice.I favor the Panda because it's a little softer than the Wiley (but not mushy) and the flavor is very good but it's smooth, isn't overpowering. My husband actually favors the Wiley which definitely is stronger. I don't dislike the Wiley I just prefer the Panda. Taste is subjective, of course.So, I ordered a larger bag of each to have around the house and we can each taste the other's bag :)BTW, I was not aware that black licorice (anice root) can raise blook pressure over time. I'm not a doctor and I have not delved into this deeper, but since we both have slightly high bp, I will keep an eye on this and we'll not indulge in too much, too often. Just FYI in case anyone else has that concern, you should ask your doctor and look it up online to find some good research.

I try to avoid ingesting any cane sugar because I have found it to be detrimental to my health (both mental and physical). So I am really thankful for Panda's licorice, as it is a rare snack food that does not use cane sugar (it is sweetened with molasses instead) and also tastes great. To be clear, it still has sugar in, just not cane sugar.Regardless of that, I think this is a great licorice. The molasses is a perfect base for the black licorice/anise flavor. (The raspberry flavor is a little less successful, though still good).

Only four ingredients: Molasses, wheat flour, licorice extract, and anise oil. This licorice is soft and chewy. The four 7 ounce packages came within two days and was perfectly packed. The price is considerably lower than Walmarts. If you like licorice and haven't tried it I suggest you do. Panda has been around for about 75 years. They make another similiar licorice but it has fructose syrup. My favorite licorice treat.

I recently purchased several packages of Licorice through Amazon to quell a craving. Out of all the ones I received, this was hands down my favorite. The licorice has a strong flavor, but not sharp like some of the others. If you are looking for the strongest licorice out there, these aren't them.The candies were soft, in of themselves, but they also have a honeycomb structure which further helps to reduce the heaviness of a traditional rope style. Another use I'd found to the style was being able to eat them with a toothpick or skewer to keep my hands clean while working at the computer.These will be my go-to for all my future licorice cravings.

Delicious. Licorice also helps heal the mucus membrane so my doc suggested i buy some. So if you have dry throat, etc (menopause, chemotherapy, etc) this can help :)Or at least it does with me to have a handful a few times a week.Really delicious if you like black licorice, which i do. A bit sticky so have to wash your hands after eating from the bag.

The flavor was exactly as I had imagined, and I love that there is no corn syrup in it. However, 2 of the 4 packages consisted entirely of shredded pieces of licorice, with no intact pieces at all. I don't know if these 2 packages had been left in poor conditions such that the licorice pieces fell apart, but they were a disappointment. The other 2 packages were in good condition, in pieces as portrayed on the packages. Wish the quality were more consistent...

Great licorice - even if you don't LIKE licorice. Soft chews, mild flavored. My daughter bought me some for Christmas, and I liked them so much I've bought more - twice! I'm diabetic, so I really watch my sweets. If I am going to indulge, it has to be on something I really enjoy, and these candies do the trick.
