The hook is smooth and does slide over the yarn easy, it is a very easy handle to hold and work with. The handle is round which fits the hand and takes the stress off your hand and wrist. Looks to be made of good quality and long lasting for many years if I can keep the pups away from it. They have chewed up my last two plastic ends and I refused to buy another whole bag of difference size needles when I only needed this size lol. The plastic or rubber seems to be stronger than the other ones I have bought. It might just hold up if the pup does get a hold of it. I am very happy with this one so I bought another one to set back just in case.

This ergonomic crochet hook is much better than the one I was using before. My hand hurts a lot when I'm working, probably because I'm holding the hook too tight. But this larger handle doesn't hurt to hold while working. The size is carved into the handle so it shouldn't rub off. The hook is rounded at the end to easily slide through tiny holes. The neck of this hook doesn't narrow like my old one, but I haven't had any trouble getting through the holes. The metal hook goes all the way through the handle. However, after crocheting with this book for several months, the metal hook began sliding out of the silicone holder mm by mm. It was easy to push it back in, but a month or so after that, the metal snapped just below the top of the sleeve. I glued it back together with E6000 glue, but it hasn't dried yet to test the fix.

Best hooks ever!!! Glide through yarn so smoothly & even though they are technically tapered hooks they have a nice point on top to get through tight stitches!

I didn't think it would make a difference but they are amazing. Worth the extra cost. Great for trigger thumb pain and tendinitis. They increased my speed while crocheting.

You can use the finest of yarns without difficulty. Also, they have ergonomic comfort grips, which makes crocheting so much more enjoyable, especially if you have arthritis or pain in your hands. I usually can't crochet for more than 20 minutes and then my finger joints start aching. But with these crochet hooks, I'm able to crochet for hours---or until I start getting bored! It's really great. These hooks come in a variety of colors, each size is a different bright hue, so once you've used them for awhile, you'll know which hook you need by sight. They also have the size inscribed on the handle, so if you're color-blind or don't memorize things easily, you can double-check to be sure you're using the right hook. This one, size I (5.5mm) happens to be a bold kelly green. You can buy the hooks individually if you aren't sure you'll like them, or if you're filling gaps in your collection, or adding spares. But it's actually cheaper to buy the full set. There's three sets: The brightly colored set is size B and up. These are hooks you use for working with yarn. The pastel set is steel hooks, the tiny ones that you use for crocheting with fine threads. There's also a neon set , which is extra-large hooks for working with very thick yarn. I'm extremely pleased with this crochet hook. Five stars and highly recommended for anyone who crochets.

Wow! this is the best crochet hook I've ever bought. It is so S-M-O-O-T-H, the yarn just glides over it. I wish I could afford to get the whole set, but why each size is priced differently? I hope someone will gift me the whole set!
