It works great. I really need it because my chiller and equipment are placed outdoor. The temperature sometimes drops below 20 F in winter.

Using in my motorhome, not just for antifreeze, but especially the six 12-volt wet cell batteries. Tells me which cell might be failing. Seems accurate, well made, easy to use. Buy it.

This is my first use of a refractometer style antifreeze checker and it was impressive. The instructions are clear and use is easy. I confirmed the factory calibration with distilled water which showed 32 deg freeze point / 0% antifreeze. A known 50 / 50 glycol mixture showed right at 50%. This gave me confidence that readings of unknows should be accurate at well. This wins hands down over the floating balls or arrow style antifreeze checkers. Very happy with the quality and performance for the price. The storage case and the included droppers were better than expected quality.

Seems to work well and worth 4.5 stars. I’m going to reserve 5 stars to see how it holds up over some usesage and confirm accuracy against another unit to make sure it’s a reliable indicator. Much better than the ball float type hygrometer and best still it’s in F so I’m not having to do any converting. Easier to calculate needed AF or water to be added to a system to stay at 58%.

Accurate scales for both ethylene and propylene glycol, easy to adjust focus, and quality build. Recommended! Other reviews say it is hard to read... if the coolant is dirty, polluted or pH is extreme then the line will be fuzzy or more of a gradient. This is normal for all refractometers, if you doubt your readings then try it with new coolant and you'll see a well defined line. Concentration (freeze temp) is only one important coolant parameter, the other is pH. Coolant pH is generally considered ok when between 8.5pH and 10pH, slightly alkaline - it prevents corrosion. When the pH is out of range either way it's time to flush and replace. Especially if it starts becoming acidic (lower than 7pH) because it can cause damage to engine components and hoses. Test strips are really cheap insurance when used alongside the refractometer. This refractometer is a good product and a good value.
