Mini DisplayPort to DVI-D Cable

The 3 foot Mini Display Port to DVI cable looks nice, though the DVI portion of the connector could’ve been made a little smaller, as I’ve seen in some DVI cables that I’ve had through the years. The most important thing about this cable though, is that it just works very well. The picture quality is flawless, and they offered a nice, short and clean 3 foot cable option. I saw no manufacturing issues with it in terms of its presentation, as it came in a frustration free tear away bag thats easy to reseal. The actual cable is nicely shielded, despite not needing to be, given that both ends offer a digital picture, so essentially, this is an added bonus. The only thing people need to know, as someone who also builds PCs, is that cables should be purchased at the right length to avoid bending them in different ways to mask them from your environment. This is more important with cables like this because there’s an added conversion occuring inside the cable than a traditional HDMI cable. With that in mind, this cable is about as good as it gets because it’s adapting one HD connector format into another, much older HD connector format, and it does that task in a very clean, presentable way, without any issues.

Unlike the higher-priced cable ordered from another vendor through Amazon, this Benfei Mini DisplayPort to DVI 10 ft cable actually works. No muss no fuss, plug it in and go. Cannot speak to durability, plugged it in just now, but it worked straight out of the bag. Recommended on that basis, works for me, for the moment anyway.

Arrived quickly. Easy to set up. Quality picture resulted. We really did this purchase as a long shot for an old lcd monitor I had in the garage. Going through old electronics, my kid found an old laptop hub and monitors I had laying around and wanted to see if he could add a 2nd monitor. Somehow I didn’t have a VGA cable around and seeing the hub had the mini DP and the monitor had a DVI option, one cable that solved the pairing was a true blessing in simplicity. amAs this was a gamble, the affordable price point was the real deciding factor.

Wife needed a new cable for her laptop and dual monitor setup. Cables have worked fine for a few months so nothing to complain about. I didn’t do any in-depth research to find the “best” one. Just picked this one cause it was affordable. This is also just for office work and nothing intense, like gaming.

I initially gave this product one star because it didn't work in my configuration, while meanwhile an Apple product worked fine. To their credit, Benfei found my review immediately and on their own initiative sent me a replacement. I am delighted to report that the replacement appears to work perfectly and am glad to change my star rating. Benfei deserves applause not only for a working product but also for really spectacular customer service. [PREVIOUS TEXT OF REVIEW FOLLOWS: I bought this cable as an emergency spare backup for an Apple branded Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter that I already use. However, although the Apple product works fine with my setup, this product doesn't. The source is a very recent MacBook Pro (mid-2015), while the display is a rather old Viewsonic VP201b monitor. When the new cable is plugged in, the Mac does indeed detect the monitor, but the monitor does not detect the Mac and remains dark. The Mac has two DisplayPorts; the Apple adapter works in both, the BENFEI cable fails in both. Because the display is so old, I am guessing that the BENFEI cable may not fully support the DVI input on some monitors; but to be fair, it may be the monitor that is out of spec, not the cable. I don't have the tools to know which device to blame for certain. Nevertheless, the fact remains that the Apple adapter (plus separate DVI cable) works while the BENFEI cable does not. I'm sorry to say that the BENFEI cable cannot be considered a 100% perfect substitute for the Apple product.]

This is exactly as described; for connecting between mini-display port to DVI, 6 feet long. Quality is fine. This enables you to utilize devices together that are not directly compatible. In my case it is to utilize an old DVI monitor with the mini-display port of a laptop. The result was good quality display.

Quality cable. Works well. Disappointed that Amazon said this would ship One day, and It did not. I don't belie e this Is the seller's fault. Amazon is giving sellers a bad rap for advertising shipping as one day and then shopping it with an order arriving later. This is a regular occurrence for my orders lately.
