**Q: Can prawn crackers cook in the microwave?**
A: I have never tried it.  Altho, I did fry the bigger sized prawn crackers in my toaster oven, set on air fry mode, and it worked, the thing is you have to brush EACH cracker THOROUGHLY with oil in order for it to puff up.  For me it wasn't worth the extra hassle and mess, so I just used my little counter top deep fryer that I got at Walmart for $20.  Good luck.

**Q: What are the ingredients in this? Is this gluten free?**
A: Ingredients: Corn Starch, Salt, Sugar, Prawn Extract, FD&C Yellow No. 5, FD&C Yellow No. 6, FD&C Ree No. 3, FD&C Blue No. 1.
The Box is not labeled Gluten Free however given the ingredients I would feel comfortable saying it is gluten free.

**Q: what is the carb content in these?**
A: Depending what your idea of a serving is ....anywhere between 12-20g carb... tapioca flour... Easy enough to Google yourself...

**Q: Are they peanut free?**
A: It's dried shrimp paste and corn starch...prob the most allergen free unless you can't have shellfish.

These prawn crackers are pretty close to the ones I used to eat back in Indonesia! As usual, I fried them in a lot of hot oil and collected them with a metal sieve/strainer after they've expanded a good amount. The texture was really light and crispy, and the taste was also good. One note to keep in mind: make sure the crackers don't touch the bottom of the wok/pan/pot for too long, especially after expanding, otherwise it'll burn. Luckily for me I like burnt food sometimes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good, color or not, and enjoyable to cook.

A number of my family, myself included, likes prawn chips and other seafood items. We usually just got the "stick" variety in little bags at the local oriental market, but one day I saw they had these prawn chips on the shelves. They currently don't have them now, so I went to order these here. You can get them with or without color, doesn't really impact the flavor as far as I know. Pretty shrimpy, fishy taste, and surprisingly even better when still warm and right from the pan. Even when cooled off, you can just put them in a resealable bag for later. Not sure about shelf life after cooking, however. Only downside is the obvious need to fry these things. Aside from the not-so-healthy aspect, you have to be careful with using bigger quantities of oil. I've burned myself doing a multitude of different things so I'm used to getting burnt like that, but for those not careful there's an obvious risk of getting hurt, either from spills or from the oil popping out of the pan (or pot). Just be careful is all. Drain the chips over something such as paper towels, give them a minute to cool down to a more warmer temperature, and you're good to go.
