CompTIA CySA+ Certification Kit: Exam CS0–002

These worked for me along with the Jason Dion course on Udemy. Currently Security+ and CYSA+. I took the 002 exam in April 2023 and passed.Good luck

Sybex is my go to for many certifications. Well put together and lots of great practice questions.

While the book isn't bad and it has good study materials, the way they structure the book makes it hard to study from. Finding the exam objectives can be stressful as they don't appear to include half of them (example: they mention what agent-based scanning is and just say it's supplementary with server-based, but then don't go on to explain what server-based was in the first place).Includes a lot of unnecessary information that is not needed for the tests that could have had their own chapters (with notes stating they are not needed for the tests. Should have just come with separate chapters with a note to go there if you want to see more). They could have used that space for actually going over all of what's in every exam objective rather than making you look all over a chapter to see what parts it's talking about for what exam objective (example, exam objective 1.3 being both in chapters 4 and 5 but they don't specify which parts are for 1.3 so you have to look through the chapter to try and find specific ones).It's a good book for a start, but I would definitely recommend getting 2-3 more books and other study materials to make up for what it lacks.

Before I got this book, I had been relying on a separate, unrelated Udemy course. Which I felt wasn't enough so when I heard good reviews of this I figured it was worth a shot and it really is. The writing is very easy to follow, good examples. The practice itself was nice as well, I made sure I did well on each end of chapter quiz and went through about 100~ questions for each objective in the practice book too which felt like ample prep. This book isn't bad at all, some people may need more than this depending where they fall experience wise but for me, it was perfect.
