Troclosene Sodium
Each 8.5mg tablet is individually blister packed in easy to open plastic-coated paper. There are 10 tablets to a pack, and 5 packs per box (50 tablets per box). I received 5 boxes (250 total). Expiration matched the description. According to the Aquatab website, dosage is 1 tablet/liter for emergency use (5 tablets/gallon).Troclosene sodium is also known as sodium dichloroisocyanurate, and the sterilization is done through a slow release of chlorine. This is a much better solution for long-term treatment and safer for those who are allergic to iodine or have thyroid problems.

Lesser of two evils?
I read the directions and information that comes with this product. I AM TERRIFIED! The description makes these sound like a safe alternative to bleach. What I received sounds like certain death! The first warning "causes temporary blindness". They also state that you cannot reuse the container once these are used. I am in a survival situation. What am I supposed to do if I have to throw away my only bottles??? I guess I have to wait for end game, then use these?

Safer is better.
My well water is stinky and undrinkable.. May get it palatable someday, but it requires treatment now.Am currently using the Aquapure system, and their filters... The filtered water is great, but the filters become clogged rapidly.. To help them, I got a supply of Aquatabs for pre-treatment. I've been using three tabs per gallon of raw water, and then putting it through the Aquapure system. It works great... Aquapure filters remove the chlorine taste, and assure me of safe drinking water. And cleaning the filters is much simpler... -pp

Safety In A Small Package
The last thing you want is a water purifier that doesn't give you confidence that it does the job. This gives me confidence. I have redundant water purification systems, and that Aquatabs is one of them speaks volumes, because you must think safety. I don't cut corners, either. This has extensive instructions, and I keep them with the Aquatabs so I don't use them incorrectly. Noted: do not touch the tabs physically, and keep them away from children and pets. After the correct time purifying the water, drink away, cook, whatever, but use them correctly. But don't touch the tablets onto your skin, they will cause a burn. But there is no reason to touch them to your skin--they are perfectly safe to use to purify water for your use, and you can feel safe with them. I do.

NOT Original Packaging
Aquatabs are Great 5-Star. The company not so much. They arrived in a small zip-lock bags, not the original packaging that is shown. This is an important distinction as the original foil pouch will last longer in reserve than the bulk that they buy and put in cheap plastic bags and some reprinted instructions. Find another supplier.

Expiration dates may vary.
You get what you pay for. 250 tabs to treat questionable water. Easy to use with two sets of instructions so you can split up the quantity without worry. However the expiration date may not be what you expect. Typical "new/fresh" tabs are good for about five years or so at least and the ones i purchased in 7/2019 expire in 03/23. All in all this isn't a huge issue for those that will likely be using them within the purchase year such as avid campers, hikers, backpackers, but those seeking preparedness/disaster supplies should be wary. All in all, would and likely will purchase again.
