Works well with Mac computers, but doesn't fit the mini display port on my Kindle Fire.
My Kindle Fire has a mini display port, and so I chose the “Belkin Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter” to connect my tablet to an HDTV or a monitor with an HDMI input. Unfortunately, I found after I received this adapter that the mini display plug on it does not fit the mini display port on my tablet. Although the product page at Amazon does not currently state such, this adapter seems to be only compatible with Mac computers, from what I can tell.I don’t personally have a Mac, but we do have a couple of them at work, one of which is used by the sales team for demos. I plugged the adapter into this Mac and connected it to the HDTV that they use for software demos, and it did work very well with it.The adapter is a nice option because you can use whatever length HDMI cable you need. I imagine that is especially nice at home, where the television may be across the room.Until I received this adapter, I was not aware that there was more than one type of mini display port, and the product page does not specify a type for this or I may have investigated further before ordering it.If you have a Mac with a mini display port, this is a good option for you. If you don’t have a Mac, then you need to do some research to see if this will work for your device before buying it.

It gets the job done. You plug in one ...
It gets the job done. You plug in one end to a mini display port, and the other side is an HDMI port so that you can connect your MacBook to a screen that uses an HDMI cable. It seems a little expensive for a simple adapter, but feels generally well made and looks reasonably attractive (there's only so much you can ask for from a cable in looks :-P)

Does the job like it should.
This is a short cable, but that’s fine with me. It fits easily into pockets. Just remember that you’ll also need a separate HDMI cable. Overall it works exactly as it’s supposed to. Just plug it in. . . and you’re done. FYI. . . Belkin offers other models of the same thing, but I think this one is the newest. I haven’t used the older ones, but I like this one a lot, as it does the job with no “issues”.

Colors a bit weak
This connector is mediocre. I feel it earns three stars, but I wouldn't go higher than that. The good aspect is that it is super simple and functions without a hitch: Plug it in, the display connects fine (in my case, to a projector). No complaints there, and this has become my backup connection device. When using this to watch a video (streaming from a premium channel, from my computer to the projector), the colors seemed a bit weak. I paused the show and plugged in my other adapter, and the colors looked better on that one. I did a few different comparisons with the same result. This adapter seems to mute the colors a bit, which it really shouldn't do.As a basic adapter, this works. As far as knocking it out of the park, though, it's a little weak.

Works well!
Simple to set up, easy to use. Worked well for surface pro. I guess I should say that you need to make sure you have an HDMI cable to attach. (lol. you'd be surprised what some people do). Belkin always seems like a well trusted brand. Would have preferred another 6 inches of cord.

Plug and play with macbook air - excellent
I like when things work this simply! No issues, plug and play, right out of the box, without reading directions.I'm using it with a macbook air connecting to an hdtv for presentations. I plugged it into the displayport on one end, and the hdmi cable to the tv on the other. The picture came up instantly, the mac recognized the tv type (samsung) and popped up the display settings window with samsung preselected and an appropriate resolution preselected. And that was about it. Resolution is excellent too.Physically the adapter is robust, doesn't feel like it will break easily even if beaten up a bit in a travel bag. The cable is short - about 10" end to end (and the hdmi end is female - so it's made to plug an hdmi cable into, not to connect directly to a display, like if you're using it right near a projector you'll still also need an hdmi male to male cable). In that regard, it's actually a bit of a funny length -- it's really a dongle/adapter rather than a cable itself, so could have been just a few inches instead of 10" for that purpose. Not a big deal but takes up slightly more room than it needs to in my case. However, all around, a solid solution for easy displayport to hdmi.

Works just like the Amazon Basics Adapter I've been using
This adapter works just like the AmazonBasics Mini DisplayPort (Thunderbolt) to HDMI Adapter I've been using with my MacBook for over a year. Which one you buy depends on availability and price. The Belkin adapter is thinner on the HDMI end, if that matters to you.

Didn't realize it wouldn't work with all apple devices
I'm sure it works great, it just doesn't work for me...that's my fault. I didn't realize that it wasn't compatible with all apple devices (older models). So, a word to the wise, check and see if your device has a compatible mini display port and where it will work for both audio and video before ordering.
