I use menthol and camphor on my left ankle and thigh before going to the gym. Tiger Balm has worked well for me. I wanted to try this IcyHot because it contained camphor at 11% - same as Tiger Balm and menthol at 16% - 5% more than the balm. And the price. The first time I used the IcyHot, there was no relief. Disappointed I decided to use three times as much cream on the ankle and thigh. IcyHot worked great then. The difference between Tiger Balm and IcyHot is that I only have to use a smidgen of the balm for it to work.

The strength of camphor and menthol is highest with this Icy Hot Advanced. When I go to bed, shoulder bursitis pain flares up and travels down my arm all the way to my fingers. Applying this Icy Hot helps soothe the pain and I am able to fall asleep. Bengay was too runny for my liking although the pain relief was reasonably good with it too. Icy Hot Advanced is thicker, non-greasy and gets easily absorbed. Checks all the boxes for a good pain relief cream.

When the pain hits on that pulled muscle and you think....I just can't do this any longer...apply icey hot. It's powerful smell will not only heal your muscles, but it will open your airways as well. A multi use medicine. Always a good thing!

This has a very strong smell — it’s ingredients are camphor and menthol — but it erases deep pain and is the best external pain reliever I’ve ever used. I used it on my husband too, and he was in awe. There is an Icy Hot that is just menthol, and an Icy Hot that is just lidocaine. But the only one that works for us is the Icy Hot containing CAMPHOR AND MENTHOL. Try it!
