Update: I had the retaining screw that holds the lock sprocket for the center sprocket strip out. This allowed the center sprocket to loosen and come undone. I contacted Gonicc by email, and within hours had an email back apologizing for my troubles and had a discount code to order a new pair for free. They also included in the email that should I still be unsatisfied they would gladly refund my entire purchase price. Unbeatable customer service!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These are great pruners. I have really enjoyed using them in my rose garden since receiving them. Here's some thoughts: Pros - Price. I feel these were very reasonably priced for the quality that you get. So much so in fact, that I bought two pairs, one pair for me and one for my wife. - Sharp! These things are incredibly sharp. I also found that when trimming thick rose canes, they cut clean through and don't tend to turn sideways making tearing cuts like some other cheap pruners I've used. - Ergonomic. The foam grips on the handles don't bite into your hands like pruners with plastic and metal handles can tend to do. They are really comfortable. I do feel that this is where they could fail after long-term use. I think that there's a chance that this foam will break down and/or tear. I wouldn't say this is a deal breaker, as that's the nature of such a material. We'll see how long they last and if the manufacturer can provide replacement grips should they do fail. Cons: None to report for now. Overall, these are superb pruning shears. They have already taken a beating in my rose garden and remain sharp, with no issues to report. They cut great and I look forward to using them for a long time. Time will truly tell how well they last. If they make it more than two years, I will consider them a resounding success, as that's all I've got out of any other pair that I've owned. Bought these after going through a couple of cheap pairs that bent or dulled after one season. These are a completely different level. The titanium blades cut clean through branches without hacking or tearing, and after months of regular use they're still sharp. Feels like a tool that will last years, not one season. The grip is comfortable even during longer pruning sessions — no hand fatigue or slipping. Spring-loaded action makes repetitive cuts much easier on the hand. Lock mechanism is smooth and secure. Solid, well-balanced, and built to actually handle real garden work. If you're serious about your garden, stop buying cheap shears and just get these.

These shears are very sharp, easy to hold and use. Locking mechanism works flawlessly. They are very high quality and should last years with proper care. Highly recommended.

Love this tool! Worth the money. Love the hand grip and I can trim my small and larger plants.

These clippers are amazing. I wasn’t sure about the ratcheting feature at first but now I wouldn’t have any other kind. Another feature is the open hole in the handle to hook onto a coiled lanyard for trail riding. I attach these to my saddle and trim and cut back overgrown trails. Great tool. Won’t ride without it.

These work really well. They are sharp and cut roses with ease. They are light enough they don't make my hands tire quickly and are a good value for me.

When I first got these, I wasn't sure about them. Took some getting used to the ratchet part. They are great cutters and the ratchet part helps grip it better to cut. The blades a very sharp. The price was good. They have outlasted my other cutters.

I love it. Very sharp and cuts through almost anything and staying sharp so far. Even used it to cut open some cardboard boxes. Love the safety lock. I will cherish and take care of this one.

Surprisingly good quality for the price. I used these to trim flowers for bud vases at my wedding, and they worked perfectly — sharp, sturdy, and easy to handle. They cut through stems cleanly without crushing them. I’d definitely keep these on hand for both floral work and general gardening.
