Can this be painted over satin finish walls or is a primer needed first?

Yes it will be fine I pained over gloss on my paint work. But it does stain if splashed and finger marks won’t wipe off

Big side to side swipes with a trowel when paint is still wet. 2 coats will give a great effect if you do this…then when completely dry go in again with the trowel to polish…this is really when the magic happens.
