No problem installing. Works fine. CB400F1 1976
Replaced OEM caliper on a Honda CB400F1, 1976 year model. Old caliper was stuck. I had no issues installing the replacement caliper. The OEM brake hose fit perfectly. No problem bleeding the brakes. The pads appear to be good quality and stop the bike just fine. Note: The Clymer service manual says to remove the front wheel to replace the caliper. That's not true. Just takes getting the spokes lined up to get the caliper out and back in.

3 different M Mati calipers for Honda MC leaked
I have ordered three of the M Mati calipers for a 1971 Honda CB500 I'm working on. They all leak at the caliper pipe connection ALL of them. With each attempt I installed new lines. Great care taken to first finger tighten to avoid cross threading. Every time I would attempt to bleed the system once a little pressure was introduced that connection at the caliper would leak.

Perfect fit
Much easier to replace the caliper than trying to free up the old one. Only catch was the cotter pin supplied was a little big. Everything else works perfectly.

Pretty bad casting quality but functional
The casting quality on the caliper itself was pretty bad and I decided against putting it on my bike just because of the numerous visible flaws. That said I’m sure it would work fine in a pinch. It also had a ton of paint drips and overspray that had to be sanded off before the pads would even fit in the caliper which was annoying but not the end of the world. I ended up cleaning up my original caliper and using the piston, O ring, bleed screw, and brake pads from this kit to rebuild mine and all those parts were good quality and have worked great so far. All in all 6/10, it’s about what you would expect for the price and I’m sure is perfectly functional but very much lacking on the quality of imagine you could get from a slightly more expensive kit.

Good caliper, but not OEM quality.
Fits well, and works good. The piston is hollow, which is a bit of a bummer. It means that you can’t use the nylon ring on the brake pad, and they might squeal.

Not a bolt on part and doesn’t sell individual pieces
This caliper has different mounting hole spacing so you will need to buy the complete kit with mounting arm also. Doesn’t line up with any Honda factory parts other than the brake pads.

Good replacement for 1975 CB550 K1
Fixed front caliper dragging issues on a 1975 CB550 K1. I used everything provided with the exception of the bolts for which I used the originals. Some reviews stated they had leakage issues. I used the original flared steel brake line and fitting, which were in great condition and experienced none either from the line connection or caliper. Other reviews stated the paint was an issue. I couldn't see anything wrong with the overall paint finish and it held up to getting wet with brake fluid when I bled the system at the caliper's bleeder. A wipe down after and the paint still looked great and none got eaten away by the bled brake fluid. The kit came with the piston and bleeder already assembled so there was no requirement to pre-assemble the caliper. The caliper and pads engage progressively and are easy to modulate when applied. The caliper releases fully and doesn't drag either. Works as well as any I've used on these vintage Hondas which at best are safe, will bring you to a stop but not stellar when compared to brakes on a modern supersport bike. I would say it works as well as a good working vintage Honda OEM rebuilt caliper. I've had mixed long term results with rebuilding/refinishing original calipers. At the cost I would say replacing them with this is a effective alternative that fits, looks proper and works without having to clean up, rebuild and refinish an old one. When I have another one to do I would look at replacing it with this again. Wishing now they had vintage CB750 caliper kits that are just as easy to obtain off Amazon as this was. I took one star off since the piston is hollow unlike the original which means there's no way to use anti-squeal spacer from the original. Having said that so far the brake doesn't squeal so possibly using a hollow piston isn't going to cause a squealing issue.
