Good for "Home Use"
Wow the reviews for this thing are a little ridiculous eh? Some people pay for silver and expect gold ;) Okay, so I bought this because I do app review videos for a blog and my Blue Snowball mic was picking up the awful "pop" sounds that this is supposed to filter "hard P, hard T, hard B, S, and a few others." So I got this. Here are my pros and cons: Pros 1. It works. I tested in Sony Vegas pro with and without the filter. The "pop" sound is completely removed with the filter. Which means it does what it was designed to do. 5-stars. It does not affect voice volume at all, just smooths those rough edges in your speech :D 2. It looks nice. Attached to my Blue Snowball, it looks like a professional product. It doesn't really matter since I work from home and not in a public place, but it's nice to know I can show it to people and it "looks nice" 3. The clamp, bendable arm, and everything work appropriately. The clamp is designed to hold onto a bar and not a flat surface. So mounting this to, say, a desk probably won't be a stable as attached to a round thing, like the stem to a mic. 4. I don't know why people think this "isn't sturdy"...I mean you're not going to the local rink and playing hockey with the darn thing. The build quality is quite excellent considering that it's 2 fragile screens attached to plastic and metal. Cons 1. It's pretty big. I used to shorten the stem on my Blue Snowball and stash it in a cubby hole in my hutch desk for easy storage. I can't do that anymore with this pop filter on it. Now it's become a permanent member of the front of my desk. Outside of this thing doubling the space my Snowball takes up, I have no complaints about this pop filter. It works well, it attaches nicely, it does what it is supposed to do, it looks nice, and the quality is good. This should be the last pop filter I have to buy for a long time.

Great!
I'm not a professional so this review is not aimed towards those who work with high end audio gear for a living. If you're a beginner to mid-level audio enthusiast, this product will work well for you. Why do you want it? Because speaking or singing close to the mic tends to cause a rush of air which often results in a "popping" sound when recorded. Certain sounds such as "p" and "sh" could also lead to clipping during recording. A good pop filter will capture the energy of that rushing air or diffuse the sounds of certain letters. You may also want a pop filter if you are recording anybody who might spit saliva while they are talking or singing. This is much more common than you think and saliva can actually corrode a mic. The Nady MPF-6 will help with all of these problems. You just have to remember to keep some space between the filter and the mic. The filter is a round frame with two layers of material acting as the filter. You could probably make one but if you're setting up a home studio then you have more important things to do with your time and it would be more cost effective to just buy it. The gooseneck is easy to use and stays in place exactly where I need it to. The last component is a clamp. I currently use it on the mini stand that came with my Blue Snowball mic and it works very well. The clamp is adjustable so it can also be used with other mic stands. Overall, this is a great product and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to my friends.

Listen Ma, No Ps!
The Nady MPF-6 is an inexpensive and perfectly adequate pop filter. It seems highly transparent and totally effective at removing plosives with my Shure SM and PG series microphones. The mounting hardware easily and effectively clamps to a standard desktop microphone stand and a scissor boom. The gooseneck allows the filter to be positioned exactly where you want it, and it stays where you put it. The only thing I don't like about this product is that it comes in a plastic clamshell. The filter has two layers of nylon mesh that are extremely delicate and easily 'picked,' which will allow a continually expanding hole to develop. (Think of a pantyhose run.) Take care, therefore, when removing the filter from the package so the mesh does not brush against the sharp or rough edges that result when the packaging is cut open. I suggest slicing through the clamshell all the way around and completely separate the two halves before removing the filter. I was in a hurry and just snipped open the top, thinking I could safely pull the filter out through the opening. I could. I did ... and I picked a hole in one side of the mesh. The filter still works, but the dime-size hole will grow until the filter becomes unusable. Do as I say do, not as I did :) Five stars for the quality and functionality of the product. One star for packaging that can be hostile to the product itself.

Great Inexpensive Pop Filter - Highly Recommended
The Nady MPF-6 Pop Filter is a great value, since it works very well and is a lot less expensive than some of the other manufacturer's alternatives. We have been producing professional instructional videos for several years (some are available on Amazon)for my wife's business, but we recently decided to offer our services to local businesses as well. That required us to put a little more effort into making our studio area more professional looking for clients, which meant replacing the double thickness of stocking stretched over a wire coat-hanger form we had been using as a Pop Filter. It works very well for attenuating the sharper "P", "T", and "S" sounds that cause spikes when doing voice-overs. This is a well made unit that connects firmly to the microphone stand with a screw clamp (see my picture in "Customer Images" of this unit connected to our Blue Microphones Snowball USB Microphone (White) ) and has an flexible neck so it can easily be positioned as needed. I am very please with this Pop Filter as it works as expected, looks good, and didn't cost very much! Highly Recommended! CFH

Much better than a cheap home-made product
Don't waste your time trying to tie pantyhose around a wire. Just spend a little money and you'll get a high quality pop filter. The screen is very tight on both sides. The arm is is plenty long even on my mic stand. And the sound is so much better now without all those annoying popping P's! The only partial complaint I have is that the arm isn't quite as sturdy as I'd like. You have to get it in just the right position and then leave it alone. It might be too flexible for its own good. But I shouldn't ever have to adjust it once it's set so that's just me griping about something small. I use this in conjunction with the following products to make a killer home recording studio. And I bought it all on Amazon for a great price. Versatile and keeps balance
This pop filter gets the job done. The packaging is spartan at best, something rudimentary and only in place to identify the product before it gets taken out of the box. After a few seconds of fiddling to become familiar with the product I tried applying it to the table I was going to be using it at. No dice. The clamp, though easily wider than an inch to an inch and a half, was too small to fit over the table. I'm using a mic with it's own stand for this, however, and it easily fit onto the mic stand, curled into a position that enabled the stand to keep its balance and over a month later, still hold firm in the original position I put it into. The actual filter itself looks like a pair of pantyhose over a plastic rim for embroidery but I got more than I paid for with this. It's sleek, it's professional, it works. All I could ask for.

A Must-Have for Clean Audio Recordings
Pop filters are absolutely essential for anyone recording audio, and the Nady MPF-6 has been a fantastic investment for me. I bought this product over 10 years ago and still use it to this day. Its durability is remarkable, and I expect it to last even longerโitโs truly built to last. The design makes it incredibly easy to attach anywhere thatโs convenient, and it works perfectly to catch pops and deliver clean recordings. Itโs one of those tools that quietly does its job so well that you forget about itโno issues, no complaints. I highly recommend this pop filter to anyone recording any type of audio. Whether youโre a beginner or an experienced creator, itโs a necessary accessory for professional-quality recordings.

Low Price means Low Quality
I didn't know much about pop filters except that I needed one. Having never shopped for one before I was unaware of the variety of types and quality. My local brick & mortar shop offered a 6 inch pop filter for $27 and it looked pretty simple. I paid about $16 for this one. The low price made me wonder what I would find in the box. I decided to try two different types of pop filter. After reading many product descriptions in this category I chose this Nady single screen type and a double screen type from Musicians Gear. I received this one first. When I opened the package, the screen mesh part of the filter fell out of its frame. I found that the frame could not be tightened enough to hold the screen mesh securely in place!! Not a good first impression. I made simple shims out of scissor cut pieces of rubber band and was able to reassemble the filter in a way that allowed it to stay together well. I figured for the price I got what I paid for. The gooseneck is substantial and holds the filter in place nicely. The gooseneck can be removed from the mounting clamp which is another cost savings to the manufacturer but can be useful to the user who doesn't need or want to use the clamp. The clamp is OK and is identical to the clamp on the second filter I bought. I thought the rubber "bumper" on the tip of the screw that secures the clamp to its mounting point was a bit small and too "squishy". Again, one gets what one pays for. In the end, this pop filter mounted with little trouble, seemed secure and provided the needed service. The screen mesh frame seems fragile to me and can fall apart easily. This is definitely a consumer product meant for a stable, unchanging installation. It is not a "professional" quality product and would not survive one trip outside the studio.

Great pop filter!
This is my first pop filter but I can say that it works well smoothing out all the pops and clicks I make while recording as well as it seems that it almost smooths out my voice a bit when it clips. I notice when I talk to loud and the audio clips if its only for brief moment then its seem nonexistent almost. If I really yell and clip the audio its sound awful so it doesn't fix everything nether is it supposed to. All in all good pop filter for the price.

Good Pop filter, crap clamp
Yeah jsut echoing what everyone else is saying here in that it's a good pop filter, but the clamp is shocking and not compatible if you have a Blue Yeti boom arm. Contemplated returning it but I just ended up using a DIY (gaffer tape and blu-tack) to place it in front of my mic

Great addition to a home recording studio
I like this screen. I have used for almost a year now. The quality is pretty good. The arm is easy to twist and bend the way you want. It sometimes tends to sag a bit over time so I use a little rubber band for additional support. I usually have to adjust it a bit before recording a vocal take but it always holds up nicely through the entire recording session. Word of caution. The mesh is extremely delicate and rips very easily so be very careful not to touch it. I learned it the hard way.
