4 stars ⭐️ ALL you need to know...
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am very EXCITED to have just received the New 2019 Perception 12. Footer Joyride Kayak. I took a video to show all I love about it and it’s sister version on the sit on top.It has quick, fast and easy latches. Has an extra little bonus open department behind your seat. The closed in department is nice. Because, you can place items inside of it. Where items will (not) roll down the kayak pass your seat. It has feet adjustments. Has a phone slot to take selfies and cup holder. Along with accessory mounts for gps or fishing rod holders. The seat it self is extremely comfortable! Has an extra lift under seat. Which make it feel like your in a recline chair. With our legs being lifted slightly. Out of all my kayaks I own. The seat is amazingly thick padded 5 stars. The plus side is the handles are apart of the unit. It’s solid and (won’t) be able to cut the handles to steal. So if you want to chain around the handles to a tree or rack you can. With our it being stolen easily. The only reason why it got 4 stars. Is because the strap around the phone and cup holder flicks off way to easily. It very stable. As you can see in my video.I took it out this past week. The kayak felt light enough to carry. It paddles/ tracks nice and straight. Very easy to get into. Very stunning on the water. This boat won’t sink. Has extra buoy in back. It paddle pretty fast! 👍🏽If you are wondering why a 12 footer? Let’s just say I have and started out with 8 and 10 footers sit in and in kayaks. Those are great for simple recreational in lakes or slow moving water. Not anything I would really Depend on as for safety and durable goes and there usually cheaper and easier to haul. The 12 footer is a in between. Not too long and not too short. The longer, the faster. The 12 footer is easy to throw in back or my suburban. It sticks out by a 2 and half feet. Easy enough to strap doors. Not to heavy. Only around 50 pds. You can go on long or over night camping trips with the 12 footers. The perceptions are very durable and fantastic durability! You can go on more different kinds of water. And explore a lot more on the 12 footers.I left a detail review on the 12 ft sit on top pescador sit on top. And the difference between getting a sit in or sit on top kayak. Both makes a big difference. If your new at kayaking. I would recommend buying the sit on top 1st. Because you can easily self rescue since sit on top won’t sink. Vs. sit in. You have to be able to swim with it and drag it to shore. You would want to paddle during June to Sept as a 1st timer. Because the water is extremely cold even if it’s hot outside during the month before June and after Sept. You need to dress for the swim not the weather. What is nice about sit on top. Is it’s used the most during summer time. Sit in is more for all year round. If you like to kayak regularly. I would recommend buying both sit on and sit in. Hope you enjoy my video and it was useful.

Excellent Kayak!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is my second Perception kayak and I love it. My first is the excellent Swifty DLX 9.5, and I wanted another, yet longer, recreation boat. I don’t take overnight trips, or fish from my kayak so I don’t miss the deck rigging. The dashboard is well thought out, and the bungees all work as expected. The seat is adjustable and comfortable (but surprisingly not as comfortable and the lower level seat on the Swifty). I’ve taken it out twice now for a couple hours each time. Once while it was windy and the water choppy and the other on calmer waters. The kayak performed very well in both outings. It tracked very well and maneuvered great for a kayak of this length and design. It cut through both waters well and was plenty fast. This is not a touring kayak, so it won’t perform like one. I had to get used to paddling this kayak, which is different than the shorter Swifty. Plenty of space in the cockpit for my dry bag and my dog. I placed the dry bag in space between the seat and rear bulkhead when I took the dog out with me. The dry storage stayed dry (there is a gasket on the lid) and had enough space for my dolly. I attached my paddle leash to the eyelet on the seat adjustment strap. I’m a 5’7, 165 lb male and had no issue fitting in the boat or loading it. I’m very happy with this purchase and look forward to years of use. Also, it arrived on time and in excellent condition.

A wonderful kayak!
Just got my boat today and took it out for several hours. Tracks well, paddles easily and much faster than my wide sit on top fishing kayak that paddles like a tank (it has its place tho). Joyride is stable, and you can lean to do edging turns without feeling tippy. The seat and thigh pads are very comfortable, and the bulkhead kept the rear storage completely dry. The dashboard is handy to keep small things and drinks nearby. I am 5' 4" 150lbs and the 12 foot boat is not too long or heavy for me to paddle or lift. I'm sure it will give me years of fun!

Great kayak, comfortable seat
I bought this kayak from Amazon warehouse, it was discounted about $300 because of minor cosmetic damage. It did have a couple minor scratches on the top, other than that it arrived by truck in great condition. (You gotta love prime free shipping, Pennsylvania to Oregon by truck-free!) It’s a great all around kayak. It paddles straight and easily, and is very stable. The built in cellphone holder and water bottle holder is great. But the best thing about this kayak is that it’s comfortable! I’m 56 years old and I’ve had several kayaks over the years and my biggest complaint was always seat comfort. It’s hard to enjoy paddling when the seat is causing pain. My first time out in this kayak I was out for 2 hours And found the seat quite comfortable. There is also well placed padding on the inside right where your knees rest which is awesome. The rear waterproof storage compartment is great as well. It only weighs about 50 pounds, so I’m able to pick up one end of it, lean it against the back of my truck canopy and Easily push it up onto the kayak rack. I’m loving this kayak so far!😊

Gashes and scrapes all over this “brand new” kayak!
I have been waiting in anticipation for this Kayak for what seemed like forever, although probably about 1.5-2 weeks. I took the plastic off of it today and there are gashes, chunks, and scrapes all over it!!!! It looks like it’s been used. I would love for the company to contact me to rectify this, this is not acceptable! As much as I spent on this kayak, it should not be banged up like it is right out of the plastic.

Perception is reality! Buy it.
Fabulous kayak! A 12’ with plenty of storage and stability. We love it! My husband is a big guy (5’10”, 280 lbs) and he fits in it comfortably. We use it on rivers and lakes nearby and it’s smooth as silk in the water, and surprisingly not too heavy.

Late and badly gouged not new customer service help needed
Product arrived Much later than anticipated and is scratched and gouged in several places... does not look new. So hard to ship returning us very difficult but a significant discount or replacement kayak is warranted.
