Wood Finish Water-Based Solid Color Wood Stain, True Black, 1 Quart

This stain went on very thick. This surprised me as stains are usually much less viscous. Coverage was very good and easy to apply. Love the black black black look. I applied this to rough and smooth cedar using a synthetic bristle brush. Was a pleasant experience. (considering I hate painting)

Good product a little thick, but you can add water to make it a little bit thinner so it’s workable would purchase this item again

Used this before and I needed more of it. Maybe this one came from a bad batch cause it did not dry the same as the previous can. My chairs are sticky like and the paint isn’t sticking very well.

Very long lasting. Color doesn't fade through time. Here's a before and after of the kitchen. I had to use multiple layers for a nice dark black finish. I found it easier to use small sponge brushes to apply the stain versus a rag like most pple recommend. Make sure you buy the wood finish as well to add after the stain color dries so it gives a glossy look and for longevity.

i usually use Varathane water based stain but tried this stain . application was not good as it's like applying applesauce , super thick and doesn't flow good a wood . it dries super fast so you have to wipe it off immediately or you have to re-stain that area ro be able to wipe it off . will never purchase this type off stain from minwax , will stick to Varathane ..

You can never count Minwax out for your wood finishing needs. The quality, ease of use, deep color, and final appearance was great. I did add minwax poly on after to give it more of a gloss as shown in the pictures. This product really made my custom hand made work bench!!

When I opened the box, it had leaked and was stuck to box. I got black stain all over my hands.
