This is the Blaster you're looking for...Headmasters are back!
I have had a love-hate relationship with Transformers for a very long time. Some lines I love...others I downright loathe. The Titans Return line has impressed me a little bit. There is no Takara Masterpiece Blaster yet, which made this Leader class Blaster a must have. The figure is big and beefy. The joints are tight. The paint scheme is very well done. The pictures make it hard to see, but there is actually a metal flake sparkle effect in the grey of the figures legs. I'm glad this was done instead of using a silvery plastic that would have had swirl marks galore. The transformation to tape deck is intuitive and fun. The tape/deploy gimmick works as expected. I wish the figure had come with a legends class transformer tape instead of the shell/weapon/supposed sled? for headmaster figure to sit in. I'm loving the return of the headmaster gimmick here. The attached helmet glides over headmaster head easily and head easily detaches. I can say the plastic is not as good as it was on old headmaster toys, which makes for the head to be almost too lose. I'd rather have the head a little lose than have to get a knife to pry it out. The head is held securely in place with pull over helmet. The articulation is decent. You do have to stand the figure at a bit of angle because hip joint design. I would definitely pick this figure up over PowerMaster Optimus Prime. I'm not going to review the base mode as my toy will never be displayed that way. I love having a beefy masterpiece like Blaster hanging out on my shelf. I think the figure is definitely worth the $49.99 price point. This is a solid buy for kids and adult collectors alike.

Blaster comin at ya!
Very cool figure!! I wasn’t going to get him as I have soundwave, but he is just as cool in my opinion and works well. Only complaint is the tint on his visor is a bit dark so you can’t really see his eyes though it (also his face looks strange to me) but otherwise he’s G1 and a must have!

A Blast From The Past Cranked To 11
When Titans Return was first revealed, I had no desire to own Blaster as I already have a 3rd party alternative in Unique Toys SoundmixerTransformers UniqueToys UT A-01 UT-A01 Soundmixer by Uniquetoys and it's a stellar figure. I thought I'd just buy Blaster for the base mode, which I did, but I quickly found out just how nice this figure really is.His transformation is simple and smooth, but has enough steps to feel like you've actually accomplished something. The paint apps are quite good for Hasbro and there's more of them than you'd expect.Speaking of transformations, let's start with boom box mode...1.) The "cassette" door does open and you can place the included cartridge or Legends Class cartridge figures inside.2.) The ports on Blaster, while not functional, do interact with real world items. (You can plug a headphone in the jack, a USB cable in the USB port, etc. Pretty neat.)3.) The gun can double as an antenna.Base mode...1.) There are at least 15-20 little Titan Master/Headmaster pegs all over Blaster in this mode. You can pretty much cover him in tiny little robots and they look great interacting with all of his command center pieces.2.) He helps add to the ridiculous scale of Fort Max when you connect him in city mode.3.) It looks nothing like Blaster's other two modes, so it truly feels like you're getting three toys in one.Robot mode...1.) Head's on a swivel, no up and down movement due to the helmet gimmick (which is pretty neat).2.) A pretty good range of motion, but due to base mode, no waist articulation. (Does have ankle tilts, however!)3.) He's roughly the same size as G1 Blaster and a slight (I do mean slight) bit taller than Masterpiece Soundwave. For something I had zero intention of buying, in the beginning, Blaster grew on me quite a bit and turned out to be a worthy purchase and I'm glad I did it. Not only do you get a cool Blaster update, but you get yet one more Titan Master/Headmaster and in this line that's a GOOD thing. (They're a lot of fun.)

so I was so glad to get this Blaster version
I never got Blaster in the 80's, so I was so glad to get this Blaster version. This version is way better than the G1 since he's got flexible arms and legs. and isn't stiff like his G1 self. And if you get the tapes, they will fit into Blaster easily, which is great. I thought it was a bit weird that he's got a Titan Master. You can't really put it anywhere when in he's stereo form. I just place the TM sitting on top of Blaster's boombox form. It makes more sense when Blaster is in battle station form, which is suppose to work with the new Fortress Maximus, which I am eager to try when I get Fortress. This Blaster is really solid and is a great deal, considering he's about as tall as the pricier Masterpiece Soundwave. Hasbro has really been hitting their stride with the new takes on G1 characters. I keep hoping maybe someday, Hasbro could build a Blaster that can play MP3 music just for kicks.

Grade A Transformer
My son really likes this Transformer. I think its silly that it turns into a boombox that doesn't actually play music but he apparently likes this feature. He loves that can hold little Transformers in his chest. Seems nice and blocky like a true transformers robot.

Great model of the G1 Toys
This is a great toy. It has everything the G1 Toys didn't. The only thing that bothers me is the headmaster part. They made transformers headmasters who were never headmasters. It's all about the nastalaga for me, but it confuses the new transformers fans, which causes quite a dispute for true transformer fans vs the Michael Bay crap.

I still have the G1 version from the '80s. ...
I still have the G1 version from the '80s. Side-by-side, this is a worthy successor, even though I'm not sure current 6-12 year olds even know what a cassette boom box is. BTW, they made a Soundwave from the same mold, but I think they missed the mark. Purist me says Soundwave shouldn't be a boom box.
