I like this product because it’s so useful and you always have an available fire source that is easy to transport.

As a woman, I already had a pretty necklace I like and wear, so I restrung this ferro rod akd striker combo on a 4mm leather string to use as a makeshift bolo tie for my favorite wide brim outdoor farm hat. The wind was always taking it unless I held it on which isn't practical when working. The rod makes a perfect way to hold my hat on and the striker is like a functional pendant! Haven't tried it out yet for fire making, but will soon and will update as needed.

Nice little piece of gear.great for emergencies or hiking hunting etc always have a way to start a fire.

To say a was skeptical about this fire starting neck tie ,would be a understatement. I use woman's round 100% cotton face wipes dipped a 1/3 into candle wax as my fire starter. So if this ferro & striker could throw enough sparks to ignite a pulled apart strandings of cotton it gives me 10 minutes of fire to start damp tinder. I was amazed on the amount of sparks this thing put out. If you are on the fence whether too buy a fire making neck tie. This thing is Quality & best buy for your money.

Not a huge fan of the striker size (a bit small), but it works, and is tied cleverly and well. I like it. Hope that helps.

Looks cool not that great at starting fire after you used it once or twice

I have used many “primitive” fire starters. This one is awesome! Great shower of spark thanks to the great edge on the scraper. Honestly better than I expected! I wear and carry it every day and plan on purchasing another as a backup.
