Sony FE 24mm F2.8 G Full-Frame Ultra-Compact G Series Lens (SEL24F28G)

The only lens I would bring on a trip if I had but one choice!!! This Sony FE 24mm is simply outstanding. The image quality is razor sharp from corner to corner, with beautiful color reproduction and excellent contrast. Autofocus is lightning fast and whisper quiet, making it perfect for both photography and video. Low-light performance is fantastic, and the bokeh is smooth and pleasing. It’s lightweight yet feels premium and well-built. Whether I’m shooting landscapes, street photography, or video, this lens delivers stunning results every time. Absolutely worth every penny — a must-have for any Sony shooter!

This lens is a permanent main-stay on my A7CII. It's the perfect size and focal length for everyday carry. The lens is light, sharp and the autofocus is snappy. Not much of a bokeh king but you get really crisp subject separation.

Love using this lense, it’s perfect for the size and the price. The photo quality is unmatched.

... for my compact Sony A7C2. Very sharp

I own 3 GM zooms , and a couple GM primes. I was always hesitant to purchase these because of the price for what you're getting. And I've come to use Sony only for professional work, where I play with Fuji and now Nikon ZF for fun -- however this lens combined with Sony compact FF has made me reach for my Sony more often because of how light and out of the way it's been. Optically it's good enough, I pair it with the ZV-E1 so 2.8 is more than enough for low light, and I've grown out of the (super) bokeh phase. Auto focus is top notch with any modern native lens. I'll probably pick up the 40mm too since I already have a 50GM.

The Sony FE 24mm F2.8G is a good lens that is very compact, making it very convenient if you have a Sony A7C or A7CR camera. Why did I give it a 3 star? For two reasons: - It's a bit overpriced for the features it offers. - It's not a very sharp lens, like reported in other reviews. I'm not over obsessed with lens sharpness. I actually like some blur and noise that make pictures look more natural and vintage. However, this lens is at the edge of what I consider acceptable. Last but not least, as many things in photography, quality, sharpness, color, while can be technically measured, can vary and it's subject to taste. A lot of people love this lens and I'd recommend to read their opinions as well. In my case, I keep it in my camera most of the time given the convenience and the fact that I'm not looking for the sharpest image every time. If I need that, I use another G-series lens.

Awesome lense

As a photographer and Videographer, I've really loved using this lens. I especially love that they added the de-clicked and clicked aperture ring, which is perfect for hybrid videographer/photographers. The lens is certainly small, but performs at a pro level, and creates a clean image. I did recieve this lens at a discounted price, but I do find the performance matches the regular price. It is a strong performing lens.

Very sturdy, nice and short, images are great quality and tack sharp. One of the best 24mm lenses I have ever used on any system. Perfect on my A7c for compact travel photography.

I like the compactness, light weight, hood’s design and aperture ring of the lens . I did not like the price tag !

This one's distortion is huge, and F2.8 is not usable. It is far from the G quality as FE 20mm 1.8G. Not recommended.
