Dr Thumb for Thumb Sucking Prevention and Treatment, Stop Thumb Sucking Today (Large (3-7 years))

I have a 4 year old who sucked his thumb constantly day and night. I was desperate for him to stop so I bought this one for his left thumb. At first we tried taking it on when he slept, but it was much harder to put it back on the next day. He would cry all over again. I decided to leave it on around the clock even during baths. We left it on for 6 weeks and then had to remove it. He chewed and bit and stretched on it so much that the piece that went around his thumb fell off. I was nervous that he would start sucking all over again but he didn't!!!! He hasn't sucked his thumb now for about 2 months and we are so thankful! I would recommend this thumb guard to everyone. I wish we would have bought one sooner. My son weighs 32 lbs and is small for his age but I bought the size large for ages 3-7. It wasn't snug around his thumb, but he couldn't wiggle it out either.

I had high hopes for this guard for my 6 year old who was still sucking her thumb at night. We had tried gloves and all sorts of other things. She wants to quit sucking her thumb and would go to sleep without sucking it, but at some point during the night she would pull off the glove and revert. This guard is a soft silicone and she EASILY pulled her thumb out during the night no matter how snugly I adjusted the strap. This might work for a young toddler, but not for an older child.

I bought this product w/ my own money. the company is not paying me to do a review. I've used this product with my 3 in a half yr old son. At first I bought the small size but it didn't fit and was extremely tight on his hand so I sent it back and got the large size. day one of use he did not want to wear it (of course) and kept trying to take it off. I had a talk with him and after that he didn't try to take it off. the first night was hard, he woke up in the middle of the night begging to take the product off (so beware the first day and night is the hardest) with that being said, he has now had it own for almost a week and no thumb sucking has occurred! I only take it off for bath time and then put it back on. everyday I am seeing progress where he won't even lift his thumb to put in his mouth! I've tried everything, even the yucky stuff that goes on like nail polish but it didn't work and made him sick. dr thumb has been working so far and I will leave another review after the recommended 3-4weeks of use

This worked for both my boys ages 5 and 7. We had tried just about everything i could think of to quit but got nowhere. The boys both wanted to quit but just didnt know how. We got 2 of the devices, one for each kid. They wore them most of the time for about a week except while in school. They kept telling me that they quit and didnt feel like sucking any more but i kept them on for a few more days anyway. They did not like wearing the device but we bribed them with toys for keeping it on. That worked. Perhaps they quit sucking just so they would not have to wear it anymore. When they got to stop wearing it we had them put on a bandaid as a reminder. I really dont care why it worked. But it worked for us! They could wiggle the thumbs out if they really wanted so if you have a kid that is older and really not ready to quit it may not work but it is relatively inexpensive so i feel like its worth a try. I wish i had done this when the kids were 1 or 2 years old.

This was our last resort after trying the biter nail stuff and other gloves. He has stopped because it's on all the time but when I take it off he starts again. It has also torn twice now. We have superglue it but it isn't working on the most recent tear. Disappointing since it was so expensive!! My son is normal as far as activity but it just tears!

It looks very good, the quality is perfect 5 stars!!! ...But it works for the first 10-15mins, then my son chews it and pulls his thumb out. It is not as ergonomic as it supposed to be, it wont fit right to the hand. Unfortunately it was waste of money... to spend 29$ just to have a TRY??? It's not worth it. So think before making an order!!!

I was hesitant to buy this due to some of the reviews. But I did and I don’t regret it. Parents seem to think that there are miracle products that will change a behavior and habit. That’s just lazy parenting. Yes, if my daughter tries long enough she can get it off of her thumb. So yes a certain amount of discipline goes along with getting to change this habit. We have only been using it for about a week. She is already starting to sleep without thumb sucking. I did order a size that was too large, so I will get a smaller one. My daughter has special needs, so ending the thumb sucking is an uphill battle but with this tool we are finally headed in the right direction. If you are expecting a $30 piece of plastic to do the parenting for you please don’t leave a bad review, it may stop someone who really needs this from buying it.

I'm very disappointed in this product. We have been trying and trying to use this, but no matter how much we tighten it or watch her, she always finds a way to sneak her thumb out of it and suck her thumb anyway. At one point, it was starting to really hurt her hand. I feel like this was a big waste of money and that it has only caused much grief in our family. 30 days guarantee is bogus. Our daughter sucks her thumb more than ever.

Mon fils a très vite arrêté de sucer son pouce. Ce n'est pas élégant donc on le met la nuit. Mais nous sommes heureux car nous avons tout essayé pour qu'il arrête (vernis, pansement et élasto, la menace, la récompense ... rien a marché!!!) j'ai cru qu'il enlevé son pouce la nuit car il était mouillé le matin mais en fait il transpirait. Cet objet nous a sauvé, il est miraculeux!! Attention il existe plusieurs tailles: j'ai pris la plus grande pour on fils de 6 ans. Attention aussi il s'agit de plastique donc ça peut cassé; j'ai dû le recollé.

Très efficace pour mon fils qui se suçait le pousse sans cesse. L’accessoire à tenu le coup trois semaines et a brisé par usure puisque mon fils le portait 24 h sur 24 sauf durant le bain, mais mon fils n’a plus jamais sucer son pousse après. J’ai adoré l’expérience de cette petite solution magique! Je le recommande à tous les parents!

Excellent product. Comes with additional band and clasp that cannot be removed without using a pen, screwdriver or other tool which is great for when your child works out how to remove the standard clasp.

It worked for a while but my 3 year old chewed it and eventually tore it. Its a good product and the soft silicone is comfortable but it wasnt durable. quite costly too so didn't have the courage to buy it again.
