I'm really happy with this tester. I think some of the reviews were a little more critical than deserved. The pouch fabric is tough enough to withstand regular use. Zipper works easily (that's where I usually find a problem). The tester itself is wonderful. I've been tracing wires everywhere. It doesn't work with coax cable. I'm sure that's due to the shielding.The instructions are nearly unintelligible. I had to read them several times, but it's easier than the instructions make it seem. Just play with it, you'll get the idea..Otherwise, it's one of my favorite tools

Good for basic task, but if you are a professional. Buy better product.

For use around the house, this was a life-saver. It worked for me with no trouble, and let me both find the cat-6 cables I was looking for and also verified that the RJ45 plugs I installed were done correctly.

The ideal companion for network installations. This device allows you to trace wiring until you can identify the exact point, it is very accurate.

I just used this to tone out a couple of dozen Cat6 runs through our new house. Considering how cheap it was, I wasn't expecting much, but it actually worked surprisingly well to help me sort out the rat's nest of cables coming into our network closet.I wish the cable test feature was better, but I ended up buying a separate Klein tool to validate the cable and connectors once I had each end identified via this tool. This arrangement turned out fine.
