Overall Decent Pump 🌟
I am a first time Mom and have been lucky to try 2 versions of the Medela pump already, the older stand alone version of the Medela Pump In Style Advanced (PISA) and also the backpack version of the PISA, so this will be my 3rd Medela pump. I pump 3-6 times a week now (I used to pump more often) and had the opportunity to use the new Medela Pump In Style with MaxFlow 2020 version in return for my honest review. I want to be as thorough as I can for those who are looking into a pump as I know its so overwhelming :)The Pump: The pump itself is really appealing at first glance. Very compact compared to the PISA and much lighter. Is has a hard casing, as the PISA had a black bag or backpack that went around it and you could not take out the pump itself. I do not travel much with my pump, I mainly use it at home but I could imagine the new MaxFlow would be so much better for portability. It is quieter than the PISA however the noise never really bothered me as I am home pumping. It advertised that it increases milk volume 11% but I have yet to see a difference in my output, I am pumping about the same output as before. I think those moms that exclusively pump hopefully see that increase. Now the MaxFlow has 4 buttons that are while the PISA has a dial and a button. This makes it looks much sleeker.Cons: The pump, like I said, looks awesome however there is no indicator on what suction level you are on. It has a ‘+’ and ‘-‘ sign but no window to show what number or suction you are on so you are left guessing or remembering ‘oh let me press it 5 times’. I much prefer the PISA where I knew exactly where to place the dial for my maximum output. Unfortunately, with the MaxFlow, I’m still trying to figure that out. I will say that the suction does seem weaker than my stand alone PISA that is 5-6 years old and as I noticed the same thing with my backpack version of the PISA. The suction seems to be getting weaker as the new versions comes out, I would think the suctions would get stronger or at least stay the same. The Flages: The flages I can say are much better. They have this rubber around the rims that makes it much more comfortable for pumping. It comes with both a 23mm and 21mm which is nice to have the option instead of just the common size. I actually use a 19mm with my PISA, an off brand, and found that they do not make this size again for the MaxFlow so I use the 21mm and they seem okay, I think I would do much better with a smaller size so hopefully they will make those eventually. The Tubing: The tubing is much better. There is a plastic piece that connects to the actual pump now which holds much better than the PISA, mine would slip off occasionally. It is thicker and seems more durable. Its easier to pump just one side if you need, all you do is disconnect from the pump and stick it in the ‘Y’ tubing area to secure the suction is closed. Now the only down fall I see with the tubing is it is a little shorter than I would like. I wish it had a few more inches to it to give me more range to do things as I sit and pump. The Bag: I haven’t used the bag personally, but it looks nice and grey color is very neutral. It seems like the pump can fit with plenty of space for bottles or whatever else you needThe Connectors: Now this might be the biggest Con to me, and maybe because I’m a first time mom and I like to see everything that’s going on especially when I’m pumping, but they redesigned the whole connector. The membranes are much larger to prevent backflow which I have had no problems with. The biggest problem I see is that the connectors are a solid white color, not clear. I don’t know why they would change this. I mean it looks much sleeker and clean, so possibly that’s the reason but I like to see what exactly is coming out, how much, how fast, if I have a clog I like to see that its coming out and especially towards the end of my pump I like to make sure I pump it all out and now I find myself leaning over trying to see if I see any drops in the bottle. The tunnel where the flanges connect is much shorter which helps in blocking to see what is going on. I find myself pumping for a longer amount of time because of this, I was so used to seeing what is going on and now that I can’t I sit longer in hopes that I’m pumping it all out instead of knowing. So if you are one that likes to see exactly what is happening like me, you might want to take that into consideration. The Powersource: It comes with both a wall connector and a portable battery pack. The portable battery pack takes AA batteries. I really wish it came with a rechargeable battery as I know some other pumps do. So possibly the next version with have that option.Overall, this pump has improved. It is much more portable and compact compared to the PISA. I like that its not connected to a backpack, I hated that, and that it can stand alone. It more comfortable then the other, and really, comfort and function is most important. The biggest drawback that does not fully allow me to love it is that the connector is not clear so I can’t fully see what is going on. I think that is all preference though. If this were my first Breast pump I know I would love it, no question. I think Medela listened to their Mama’s and made changes that greatly improved this pump however I think a few more changes and it would be amazing.

Buy it you will not regret! Best buy ever.
Third week of using the pump. Hubby came across this and read the reviews and we bought it and i dnt regret it at all.Intially bought the hand held Tomme tippe expressor which was such chore to use hence gave up.The cocobear machine is so much better then the medela one which i used in hospital. The different suction levels and massage level gives the user the flexibility to use what they want. The parts come apart easily and can be put in the steriliser for cleaning purposes.I like the time display on the machine and it is not a loud one either. In terms of usage i normally get around 50ml per session of 20 minutes.Tip: It is hands free if you put the suction cups on turn the machine on so that cups stay on and than pull your existing bra down so that it covers half the cups- that does it for me and i can walk around hands free witb it on. Another review mentioned cutting holes in a bra and using that as a way of keeping the suction cups on....i prefer my method as less hassle.Battery life is good so far use it probably 6 to 8 times a day of 20 min session and still got battery life in it.Small enough machine to carry in bag as required.Personally beleive it helping increase milk production and like the other reviews the masage function is an added bonus.I wish the machine came in other colours such as pink apart from that cannot fault it at all....if you are in search of an express machine this is the one as i bought it after reading the reviews here and they didnt fail.

Love this great little machine.
The machine is very easy to setup and easy to use. Once assemble the milk collection parts and connect to the machine via 2x plastic tubes, it's ready to go. The assembly of the milk collection parts is straight forward too. It's quick and easy. The machine has a timer and a suction power level display. The timer display comes in handy as I have been told by the midwife to feed the baby for certain minutes. The machine is also rechargeable, with the use of a breast pump carrying bra, I can walk around the house to do other things while expressing milk. The downside is it's quite uncomfortable during sectioning. However, you can adjust the level of suction. It is easy to change the suction power and it is shown on the display. Also, I had problem with the flange which came lose after a little while. I contacted the seller and let them know the problem. The seller replied promptly and very helpful. As the product is still within warranty, I am going to get a replacement from the seller.I like the machine as it is quick and easy to use with a decent price.

So far, so impressive
I bought this as an alternative to my Elvie, to use when I need both breasts pumped or my other pump is on charge.I am impressed with this product, especially for the price. It does the job, doesn’t leak much, has a good battery life and is small, relatively quiet and portable. I even walk around with it in my pocket when I’m wearing my expressing bra. Good suction and different modes for different speeds/ patterns etc.I don’t really use the teats with the bottles as they don’t have an anti-colic valve but it’s good to have that option.Pros:Works effectively in single or double modePortableGood battery lifeEasy to cleanQuite quietWorks with my expressing braCons:The angle of the flange is slightly too straight for my breasts. (This isn’t much of a problem when using my expressing bra.)
