DARMA Pro Comfort Foam Seat Cushion Posture Coach and Activity Tracker, iOS/Android

I just recently purchased and received Darma Pro on 3/14/17. The first couple of weeks it worked as expected. However, on 3/31/17, I tried to connect my blue tooth on android Turbo and I was prompted to login. I am continuously getting error of 'Network is not available'. I tried to telnet to their site and shows their network is down. This is not a cheap item and I have the latest update. I attempted to contact support twice now, as well as left a message and still have not received a reply. No support for your product?? Competition in the healthcare market is demanding and I'm sure there will be more reliable seat cushions. Your customer support is always key to representation of a good company. I hope you contact me or resolve quickly since it now going on 4 days. I will change my rating once I receive the support as well as provide update to this review. UPDATE: Since my post, I was contacted by the Company and the problem has been corrected. The reports are good to show clinicians when dealing with problems with the back, as well as any other skeletal issues. The seat buzzing allows me to view my phone regarding posture and vital signs along with why and how to correct.

I want to love my Darma. It's beautifully made and comfortable to sit on. However, like many other reviewers, after only a couple of months my Darma doesn't hold a charge for even a full day. The app won't stay connected. Basically it's a $200 seat cushion. When it was working it was still just okay. It doesn't seem to detect poor posture issues nearly as well as my Lumo Lift. It did do a good job of reminding me to move around at regular intervals, and I liked that it turned on and connected to my phone automatically when I would sit down. The exercises are just okay, and they're definitely not customized to your needs based on your sitting behavior in a given day. I was disappointed about that. In the end, this isn't a product that I would recommend to anyone. Even when it was working, it wasn't worth the price point. Now it's completely defunct after only two months.

1. I like how the cushion would auto detect the phone with the app is near and auto connect. 2. I find I have to recalibrate cushion on a harden flat surface to get best result. The cushion is always in the same place and makes recalibration much easier. 3. The cushion could be a little longer to match the chair length better. It sits a little far back on my thighs. I am only 5' 7" so I am not a big person. However my husband likes it very much. 4. The width of the cushion is good. Materials feels good in touch. 5. I like the fact it buzzes me to stand and gives exercises. 6. I like the leaning notifications. I knew I was a forward leaner but did not realize I leaned to the right a lot too. Good to know. Overall I could live with sit on it every morning and buzz me many times a day (however it is sometimes annoying). That is my honest opinion.

This product does not work at all. The Bluetooth does not connect to any devices; PC, laptop, phone (apple & android), watch, iPad, tv, etc. Does not connect to any item that manages Bluetooth connections. Also, after fully charging, the cushion will turn back off as if disconnected and will not vibrate every 30 minutes to alarm for stretches and postures as advertised when "Disconnected.' The Blue light shuts off after 3 seconds of being on. When it does pair with a 4.0 and up Bluetooth device, it will connect for a split second. While the management device attempts to pair, it will either stop and say Unsupported Device or say Connected and not actually be connected. The Seat will show a 3 light for 3 seconds then shut off and remain a normal Uncomfortable seat cushion. This is a scam and I am an idiot for making this a Christmas gift to my family. Every positive 5-star review here is made by a friend or employee of the people who started this kickstarting smart cushion scam. I have read that the app crashes too and seeing how the owners and their friends are all liars, they probably siphon your personal data from the app to so do not download it. Avoid this product and this company.

I received a new cushion from Darma and it works so much better than the older version. The cushion maintains Bluetooth connection with my phone, I get alerts for sitting too long or if I am sitting incorrectly, and if I am sitting wrong for too long there are 1 min exercises that the app demos for you. This cushion is a very good investment and is comfortable. The app is very informative and tech support does respond and helps. If you have a job where you sit for long periods of time I highly recommend this cushion because it keeps you aware of your posture and if you are too sedentary it will remind you to get up.

Darma cushion is working well, helps me keep the right posture, reminds me to stretch and move when needed. I find the cushion comfortable and the app pleasant as well. Noteworthy, having had a small technical problem at the very beginning, the response of the Darma team was quick and efficient. I was somewhat impressed of this customer care and follow up from a start up company.

I got my Darma cushion through the Kickstarter campaign early on, and have been using it for several months now. It has been eye opening. I knew that I felt stiff and sore from sitting at my desk, but had come to accept this was the price to be paid for getting things done. I couldn't take the time to get up to stretch because I had "things to do" that were important. And besides, I did get up every once in a while. I quickly found out that I didn't get up very often, that I leaned and slumped, and that I could change my behavior. The cushion signaled me when I leaned or slumped, and to get up every half hour. I started stretching more and sitting with better posture. Lo and behold, my back and neck no longer ached, and I got more done. What a great revelation. An added bonus with this cushion is the ability to monitor my heart rate and stress level. I became much more conscious of taking a moment for a few deep breaths and a bit of centering and was able to stay much more relaxed, and clear thinking. And with that, my ability to accomplish my work improved and the quality was better as well. I am glad that I bought one of these cushions and have recommended them to family and friends, and now you too. Enjoy!

The Darma Cushion Pro is a very useful product and in the 2 weeks I have used it, I can see a marked change in my posture. I now understand how much more often I need to move around and how poor posture had been the reason for my back pain.
