Q: Hi. what size gi should i get? i've been in karate for going on 8 month. i'm 5'10" and 190lbs.

I would recommend size 4 if you are 5’10” 190lbs. I am 5’11 & 197lbs and it’s still big on me and long. You may have to hem the length on the pants. Also, wash in cold and hang dry it!

Sizes do vary by manufacturer. If 100 percent cotton gi it may shrink. Also remember the gi is manufactured to Asian build person who are typically less rounded in the middle. I usually recommend buy slightly larger using the chart and shrink to fit by washing in hot. Once fit wash in cold. Works for cotton only gi.
