Q: Hi, is it possible to use these as the mic for a live ms teams call, looking for a solution for better sound for trainers who deliver live over teams

Yes. I use it for Zoom. If your 3.5 mm Jack is TRRS, you will need to get a splitter to separate Mike in and sound to speakers or monitor out. The input from this is TRS, an audio Jack with just 2 rings. In Zoom you can then select sound output, also from computer sound options (on a PC by clicking the arrow up at the speaker icon).

Rode is not water sealed in theory however as long as it is not a severe weather conditions (eg:heavy rain and rode witeless go is direcly hitting the rain) I used it in windy and raining conditions and had no issue with it. Especially with the dead cat attached to it, it shouldnt be big problem. There is a weeak es for the water where onboard mic is.

Q: Is there a way to mount the receiver to an iPhone that’s more stable than an elastic band or clipping it to my sleeve?

SmallRig do a range of ‘holders’ for iPads and iPhones, which allow for the fitting of a cold-shoe device - the receiver will fit into this.
