Great quality. Suitable for my needs. Well built. Hey, its a Hayward product. if you take care of it it will last you for years to come. Meaning when not in use, wash with fresh water to get the chlorine off of it.

Working great
Our pool pump repair tech recommended we get an inline basket to help with bigger pieces of debris. Found this product that is the same brand of our current vacuum. Weโve been very pleased with the filter basket and only wish we had gotten one sooner! With summer monsoons in Arizona, weโve been getting a lot of debris in our pool and this is picking up lots of Pine needles and bigger pieces and preventing it from getting to our pump and filter. It does take some care to get a lid lined up and tight, but itโs not unreasonably. It was easy to attach and easy to empty.

recommended but beware of the hose connection
I bought this to be a filter when I manually vacuum the pool. My pool equipment is located above pool level, so emptying the pump basket and having to reprime the pool was troublesome. I chose to buy brand name because the knock offs didn't seem to last long. However, what they don't make clear is that you also have to buy the Hayward W550 because the lateral tabs prevent the vaccuum hose from attaching directly. I wasn't going to spend another ~$37, so I bought DPM Heavy-Duty Inground Swimming... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYH26YBL?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. It is much cheaper and does the job. Alternatively, you could sand off these lateral tabs, but they are intended to keep the head assembly together while also not being too difficult to separate. I would recommend the generic connector. The Hayward W560 works well as intended, doesn't leak, and seems well constructed. The size is fine for routine manual vacuuming but was a little small when we had more debris in the pool from a recent storm. But, in the constant compromise between cost, utility, and storage space, I would still pick the W560.

Great Pool Vacuum Accessory
EDIT: After four years of semi-weekly use during May-Oct seasons, the spiraled, plastic hose that acts as an adapter between the canister and skimmer/pump inlet finally began to unravel. Surprisingly, the failure did not occur at the mid-point where it was stressed most often or at the end equipped with the tapered end that sealed with the pump inlet; it failed at the point where the hose met with the reinforced "lip" that connected to the outlet fitting on the canister itself. This is a bit of a surprise as, once installed upon first use, it was never removed. It and the canister and have always been hung as an assembly in dry place - out of sun & chemicals - immediately after use. SOooo - time to replace that part. Note my star rating has not changed. Purchased this item new in conjunction with Hayward Diver Dave cleaner for use in large "Splash Superpool." Overall impression is favorable - I recommend it. Pro: Good design & functionality, Sturdy construction, Simple in-line connection Con: Arrived w/o instructions, Tight o-ring seal that requires periodic lubrication, Adapters for other size hoses can be expensive Item arrived on time and was everything vendor & description promised. Was quite surprised to not see instructions (reason for 4-Star rating) but was able to find them online. Canister connects easily (press fit) between hose sections and can trap an impressive amount of leaves and other litter without clogging. Added plus is that it traps air drawn through hose joints within the canister and uses it to float, thus preventing excess trapped air that could have a negative effect on filter operation. Recommend users check on filter and bleed the air after two or more hours of operation. Have only used it a few times but have been happy with it thus far. Will update entry if required.

Great Leaf Canister
I don't need to worry about skimming the top of my pool anymore. The leaves get perfectly collected.

GREAT for inline pool vac - see photos - use skimmer sock
GREAT for inline pool vac - see photos - use skimmer sock - 4.5 Starts because it is very difficult to remove the lid after a week or two even when using 'pool lube'. If I were a pool service tech, this would be mandatory on every pool I service with a pool vac. This is on a Hayward DE filter with Hayward Navigator with Hayward Super II - does not interfere with navigator speed or function. Highly, highly recommend.

Works ok with a couple of problems
Well, the canister does what it's supposed to do as far as filtering large debris out of the vacuum hose before it gets to your pump. I've found a couple of issues that I'm not happy with. 1) it has a tendency to float. Even with coating to o-ring with silicone lube and fitting everything together tightly, this system is not air/water tight. So as the canister floats, it draws in air which eventually finds to the pump. Running small amounts of air through the pump frequently, adds wear and tear and shortens the life span of the system. Eventually, you'll be paying to rebuild the pump. I've had to attach a 4 oz. fishing weight to the canister to hold it under water. If it draws air in, even the 4 oz. isn't heavy enough to keep the canister submerged. 2) the basket isn't very strong or durable. Heavy rains had washed mud into the pool. I inserted a food service hair net into the basket to filter these fine particles. 24 hrs later I went to check things and found the basket appeared to have ruptured on one side. A small section was bulged out and split open. I had assumed that it was from the hair net being too full of debris. When I opened the canister, I found the net only had a light film of dirt on it but was largely empty. At this point I'm not sure what went wrong. I'm only running a 1.5 HP pump so it's NOT like there was 1,000 gallons a minute running through the hose! Sure the pump has good suction but it should be enough to damage equipment. None of my other equipment has ever been damaged by pump power. So, the basket seems weak. Other than these 2 rather major issues (in my opinion) the system seems to do what it claims. I think Hayward should make these weighted. An extra 2 or 3 ounces should be enough. UPDATE EDIT: After some testing and observation, I've come to the conclusion that the food service hair nets hold too much air. I think using the hair nets give this canister a greater tendency to float so I advise AGAINST using them now. It is virtually impossible to get all the air bubbles out of the nets when you replaced them. The air leeches out over several hours so you end up with air getting in the the filter system. Since I am still interested in filtering out fine dirt before it gets to the pump, I am going to try using women's nylon stockings instead. Stockings have a larger openings between the fibers so they might not hold as much air. I will try to remember to update with my results.

Easy installation
I bought this on the recommendation of my pool guy. I noticed my last leaf basket was pulling a lot of air into my pump. Iโm new to owning a pool, so I donโt know all the parts and pieces and what they all do or why they do it. Anyway, my pool guy recommended this one. He said it was a very easy install and felt confident that I could do it myself. This one is smaller than my old one, but it attached exactly the same. Male and female ports are the same size. I followed the instructions and it was all pretty straightforward. Make sure your pool pump is off before doing any of this work. Once installed, I turned the pump back on and everything seems much happier now. First photo is the old one. Second photo is the new one. I also included a photo of the instructions. All together, it took me no more than 15 minutes to swap out the old leaf basket with the new one.

Asรญ funciona fenomenal.

I love it. This stops me from having to shut ...
I love it. This stops me from having to shut down the main pump and lose the prime every time the basket gets full. I leave this attached to my creeper hose. It's definitely worth the purchase.
