Understand the opinions voiced re the move away from the cannibal wilderness mob of the previous efforts in the franchise,which in my opinion got old pretty quickly. This is a decent attempt to reinvigorate some new life into the franchise which I think works well for what it is. Yes the change in our heroines arc is startlingly quick (never mind dojos and fight clubs get yourself out to the hills for some deadly combat skills) but watch it for what it is, an entertaining popcorn flick no worse, although certainly better, than many of the current crop of so called horror movies out there nowadays.

PLOT... Friends hiking the Appalachian Trail are confronted by 'The Foundation', a community of people who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years. To start I have to say this movie is not completely bad and is pretty good as a stand alone low budget horror movie, and very much should of had a different title, at least then it maybe wouldn't of had as much judgement, but as a wrong turn movie, NO! It completely just rips off the title of the original to gain interest, its nothing like the original in any way except where its location is, the original concept of the movie was much better in terms of a classic old school horror, the new version completely changes the story and makes it more grounded (human killers) but at the same time is stupid! Like I said its an ok slasher with some good kills, mainly the best one is at the start when one of the less main characters gets crushed by a giant rolling tree trunk, the rest of the kills in the movie are just mainly plain boring stabbings all the way through to the predictable end, if the movie had been called Deep woods massacre, or Backwards skull-faced slaughter it probably would have worked better. ZERO of the main cast can actually act to save their lives so how they got this job I do not know, clearly you don't need any qualifications these days. the effects are not too bad, mainly practical from the look of it, some bloody moments but nothing you will remember after its finished, the soundtracks not bad in places, if you like cheesy low budget movies then check it out, this will be in the bargain bin in a few weeks I should imagine, I've seen some great horror movies lately being a fan of the genre, and this is not one of them, just a rip off of the wrong turn name, not a remake in the slightest, the only thing backwards (backwoods) about this movie is the people who wrote it. Worth checking out for some good laughs, The ending is very weird I must say, and leaves many questions as to what will happen to the final girl, but we don't really care because there will certainly not be another one after this. The Blu-ray has a decent HD picture Features are not bad with a commentary, making of (20+mins) deleted and extended scenes. Region B, Running time 1hr 50mins, English language, Subtitles English HOH. First lot come with slipcase.

Utterly pointless rehash - teens lost in the woods then it looses the plot of a community living in the woods and keeps the teens as new members etc etc. Not even Wrong Turn at all AVOID THIS GARBAGE

This could have been a good film if it wasn't piggie backing off the tittle of what was an epic movie about hillbilly cannibals living in the woods. Mabey calling it the foundation would have been a better choice

La compré pensando que era la versión en español y cual fue mi sorpresa que es la versión estándar en inglés. Supongo que de USA. Aunque la de USA tenía otra portada diferente y esta no especificaba del todo si era una versión en español o no... En fin, una pena, a devolverla y a esperar por la versión en español...
