A: By the recycling symbol on the bottom it appears to be polypropylene. It is a high temperature plastic but I always use Pyrex for the microwave.

**Q: will the measurement markings fade after long-term dishwasher cleaning?**
A: The black will fade, but you can still see the raised plastic.

Great little measuring cup. I little pricy, but I plan to have this a long time.. Very sturdy with highly visible numbers make it easy to measure fluid. Just the right size for my motorcycle fluid changes..
