This screen door uses either Velcro or Thumb Tack like pins to attach to the door frame
This screen door uses either Velcro or Thumb Tack like pins to attach to the door frame. I purchased this because I had two friends that have a similar screen door and fell in love with the ingenious concept. My two star rating comes from the fact that there are much better performing products out there that only cost a small amount more. I guess you get what you pay for. There are screens available that have magnets sewn into a strip that work very well to re-seal after someone passes through. This product has individual magnets, 9 to be exact, individually attached to the center strip as opposed to a continuous strip. This causes the product to not seal reliably and if there is a breeze you will actually have to close it yourself or the magnets wont be strong enough to close the screen.I would suggest getting the screen that has the full magnetic strip, it goes for $30ish here on Amazon, and works night and day better. But in the end, if you are just looking for a cheap $12 solution to keep the door open and bugs out, this product will suffice, but it is not the best by any means. Also, if you have a metal door you will run into issues with the magnets sticking to the door rather than sealing as it should.

Depressing
I read the reviews before purchasing this, and while I wasn't expecting it to work perfectly, especially without some tweaking, I have a lot of experience with As Seen on TV Items and a lot of luck getting them to work so I figured I would give it a shot. The item itself is exactly what I expected; cheap mesh, but it's not too terribly put together. As the other reviewers said, the velcro that comes with it is cheap and useless, so I also purchased another roll of heavy duty velcro to use instead. The tacks included also aren't terrible. It was, as advertised, very easy to install. The problem, though, is that the magnets are weak, and if there is even a small amount of air movement (such as having your swamp cooler on) it knocks the magnets apart immediately. I thought maybe if I weighted the bottom, it would help keep the magnets together. I used a couple small rocks and safety-pinned them in, which only cause the mesh to start to tear at the top in a few minutes and still did absolutely nothing to keep the magnets connected.I bought this item because I am disabled, and between our swamp cooler and our dog, we like to leave the back door open in the summer. But the bugs getting in were out of hand. Unfortunately, because the magnets won't stay connected, I have to get up and manually hook them back together whenever the dog goes out (or whenever the wind blows), thus defeating the purpose. I might as well just get up and open and close the door! I'm giving it one star because even though material wise it isn't all that badly put together, it doesn't do the only thing it was designed to do and is essentially useless. Now I have to go buy Goo-Be-Gone to scrub off the velcro glue off my door frame. I wouldn't recommend this waste of time to anyone.

Perfect for dog owners
We have a screened in deck, but I have to leave the door open for my dogs to go in and out. This results in a HUGE amount of bugs and even birds getting into the deck and trapped by the screen. I installed this screen inside the door frame so that when the wooden screen door closes, it traps this screen between the door frame and the door. It was easy to install by myself. I used the tacks and pounded them into the wooden doorframe with a hammer. The plastic tack head broke so I endedup using some nails instead, they were fine. It's working great so far. After a little practice my two dogs think nothing of walking right through the door and it closes behind them like it should. It was a great purchase!

Terrible quality, inconsitent package to package
Construction quality is terrible! I ordered 2, first set the panels are different lengths, and some magnets do not align. The second set was better, but the plastic magnet holders fell apart while I was unpackaging them. Both have awefull stitching, are not square in the corners, and have very weak magnets. One saving grace, they are a little wider than others and fit my doors. I've done my best to make them work.... but geeze these are so poorly made that they are almost useless.Buyer beware!

Panels are crooked and magnets are weak
I got this so my dog could go on the patio when it's nice out. I like having the door open but screen closed so the bugs get in. The dog doesn't see the screen and walks into it, so this would work for him. I read previous reviews and got mounting tape of a higher quality than that provided, I did end up using the tacks as well.A major problem with this was that one panel was wider on top than bottom- it was not rectangular which meant there was a gap at the top and the panels could not be hung straight and still closed. I ended up folding a pulling the top out a bit so it closed, but it in no way looks nice. If the panels were the same size I would add a star.A minor problem with this was the magnets. There is a small piece of fabric sticking out where the magnets are, and since the magnets are very weak, this fabric can prevent the magnets from clicking. after about an hour I got it hung so this only rarely happens, but it does result in a slight gap above and below the magnets that bugs could get inHowever, It should still keep most of the bugs out and it's better than nothing

Not the REAL Magic Mesh
I was so grateful to get my package today, shipping was as promised. However my gratitude quickly diminished into despair as I noticed this was not the 'real' magic mesh. It was not shipped in a retail box, but rather a plastic bag-simply because it is a counterfeit and not the real thing. I pulled the mesh out of the bag and immediately the magnets fell off. Whoops then another one, oh...and one more; 3 fell off after removing from it the bag. The directions were not the genuine directions but plagiarized copies of one of the page of instructions (the original comes with 4 pages of instructions). The Velcro was not as the original (super small) and there were no wood tacks. If I could give this purchase a ZERO stars I would. BTW, I have previously owned a Magic Mesh that lasted wonderfully for a year through much dog traffic, child traffic and guests.
