Works extremely well. Feels good quality in material and handling for the price. It sharpens very well if you stick the pencil all the way in. If you don't stick it all the way in, you still get a good pencil with a more dull tip. In both cases, the amount of shavings is much smaller than a traditional sharpener. I would not be exaggerating if I said I feel like my pencils will last twice as long. One slight issue would be the size of the hole. It handles #2 pencils and colored pencils just fine. But I think you wont be able to fit something slightly bigger... Maybe go with something else if your pencils are thick like a Caran D'Ache.

Usual plastic sharpeners were a problem to me & thought to try this. On first use I got confused and thought its not good. Then watch a youtube video of its usage :) then used properly. Its amazing well solid build, and using for more than 3 months now.

It does not sharpen pencils after 2 weeks. Not meant for use inside the classroom.

This was a recommended sharpener that has been popular for a long time. I arrives pre-assembled but you may need to tighten the sharpener mechanism. Well made in metal and plastic. It sharpens plain & coloured pencils to a sharp point, rarely breaking the lead. I think this is value for money and I should have bought it years ago.

Cela faisait longtemps que je voulais ce fameux taille-crayon américain et j'ai profité d'une promo pour l'acheter. Malheureusement il ne taille pas du tout (même pas un peu). Je pense que c'est déjà un retour car la boite en carton est écrasée. A noter qu'il est "made in China" alors qu'à l'origine c'était "made in USA" bien que je viens de voir que cette mention ne figure plus dans la description d'Amazon

Not just for the classroom, nor just standard graphite pencils but satisfies even an Artist's needs. Sharpens: Thickest pencil - Caran d'Ache Luminance, Fragile pencil- Charcoal, Polychromos, Hexagonal pencils, All graphite pencils with ease. Pros: Versatile, sturdy construction, nifty table mount, good size, auto stops works like a charm, easy to disassemble and reassemble should one need to get the occasional broken nib out, it's quiet and easy on the hands too, on day one - I love it! Cons: broke one 7b pencil nib twice perhaps because of its thicker core and softer lead, leaves bite mark. Given that I use MANY types and brands of pencils - Carl Angel sharpeners high performance rate makes it easy for me to overlook the cons. After having read so many good things about this sharpener I decided to take the plunge. It's day one so I hope that the performance withstands my usage. The desk clamp SEEMS as if it would be loose but try locking it on a desk. I've seen people say that it doesn't work, not sure if they decided that before trying because mines sits sturdy.
