It works on Sony Blue Ray DVD player!
It said it worked on Sony blue ray DVD players and it really does work on my Sony blue ray DVD player. Takes 2 AAA batteries and when pointed at the device in the second photo it operated the blue ray DVD menu!

Perfect replacement
I had to replace my Bluray player remote because mine broke. I chose this one because it is the exact same remote I got with my Bluray player. It is small, easy to use, and, without a working remote control, I can't use my Bluray player. I can highly recommend this one as a replacement for an original remote. Be sure to check that it will work on your specific model.
