A good product at a great price!
I purchased two of these canes via Amazon, one for my son who was recovering from a serious knee injury and one for myself, because I find one helpful from time to time because I am occasionally troubled by a past injury. I was so impressed with the quality and value of the Ez2care that I immediately ordered two more for two of my friends. Here's what impressed me: 1. The mechanism works smothly and securely. 2. The carrying case and velcro strap provide a good way to keep the cane out of the way when it's not in use. 3. The grip is quite comfortable. 4. The tip is of good quality. 5. My experience with it is short, but it looks as if it will hold up and give good service for a long time. 6. The price is outstandingly reasonable. Here are some other comments: 1. While the cane deploys easily, and does it with a flourish that would befit James Bond, it takes a fair bit of effort, dexterity, and concentration to fold it up again and get it back in its bag. 2. It adjusts to accomodate the user's height, but I have mine at its maximum length, and I'm only 5ft. 10in. A taller person might not be able to extend it to the optimal length. 3. The instructions that came with the cane tell you to use the cane on the same side of the body as your injured extremity. My physical therapist told me the opposite. I'll follow her advice. That seems to work better for me. Bottom line: The Ez2care Cane is a good value! I quickly became a repeat customer.

Perfect Folding Cane
Ez2care Adjustable Folding Cane with Carrying Case, Black My wife got this nice-looking cane from Comfytopia. This is her first cane, and she doesn't need it all the time. She got the folding one so that she could keep it with her for when she does need it. Even though the cane folds up small enough to fit in her purse, it is sturdy, and she feels secure putting her weight on it. All the pieces of the cane fit inside each other and then they lock down with a screw fitting collar at the top. The cane fits in it's own pouch, which is also very nice, by the way. Other canes she looked at only had holsters. The pouch is nice enough to carry by itself if you are a man and don't carry a purse. The pouch also keeps the cane out of the way so people don't trip over it, and it never gets left behind. We're going to take it with us on a cruise, so it will get a workout on the 900 foot ship. Finally, the cane adjusts to a low height for my wife, who is only 5'1'. All in all, it is the perfect cane for her, and we enjoyed the quick service we got from Comfytopia.

Well-made folding cane
I injured my knee, and although it's getting better I still have times when I feel unsteady and appreciate the help of a cane at times. I only need a cane once in a while, but I can't be sure when. I did have a 2-part cane that slid together, so I would take that with me in my backpack...it looked like I had a poorly concealed sawed-off shotgun. This cane is well made, slimmer (3/4" shaft rather than the 1" that my other one was, and folds down to three 9" segments and one longer one with the handle. The segment with the handle is about 11 inches long and the handle is about 5 inches across. It fits very nicely in my backpack, secured with the included nylon and Velcro strap, and I always know its there if my knee starts acting up. That gives me a nice feeling of security, is not a hassle to keep with me, is not heavy, and is very well made. It has two bungee chords running through the center of the shaft, which serve to keep the cane together. Assembly is as easy as straightening the pieces and sliding one into the other. The pieces overlap by 1 3/4", which is plenty for stability. There is a plastic ring at the end of each segment which prevents the segments from getting stuck together when you want to take it apart, and also prevents any scraping when the segments are together. Because of it's shape, the handle is much more comfortable than the "candy-cane" type or even the flat top canes. It's about half the cost of the sawed-off-shotgun type at the local drug store. I like things simple and classy, rather than flashy, and this fits the bill. One person even said the cane makes me look "distinguished." (Yeah, like a top hat on a wart hog.) I'm very pleased with my purchase...this little gem is everything I hoped it would be.

Good value
I am recovering from lumbar surgery and currently need some extra support when walking. I purchased this cane to have something more compact and stylish than the plainly utilitarian shiny aluminum adjustable (but not foldable) cane we've had around here for years. This one was less expensive than several others and received pretty good reviews, so I took a chance on it. We just returned from a two week Danube river cruise that included quite a few walking tours which gave it a real workout. First off, this is exactly as represented: a fairly sturdy walking cane, composed of four sections of aluminum tubing, that folds up compactly for carrying or storage when not in use. An elastic cord running the length of the interior keeps all the parts together when the cane sections are separated, similar to the system used for many backpacking tent poles. A hook-and-loop strip can be used to tie the folded sections together to keep it compact. I often would fold it into two or three sections to make it easier to deal with while seated and I have not suffered the cord separation a few others have reported. Due to its construction with the tapered top of each section fitting into the untapered bottom of the section above it, there is no danger of the sections coming apart or buckling when weight is applied. In fact applying weight just makes each joint tighter and more secure. There is a little give in some of the joints, but the cane is it far from wobbly and easily provides the support I need for my 250+ lb frame. The length adjustment is all contained in the top section, which telescopes in 1" increments. As I have an unusually long torso, I'd like it better if it would go 1" longer than its 37" maximum, but this seems to fit in with the standard length of most adjustable canes I've found. For maximum stability, be sure to securely tighten the threaded collar at the bottom of the adjustable section once you've set it to your chosen length. The cane must be set at its minimum length, or near to it, to fit into the carrying bag. This is not a big issue for me, as I seldom have need to store it in the bag, but this could be an issue for users who adjust to something longer than the minimum length and wish use the bag for frequent storage in a purse or other tote, as they would have to readjust the height every time they put it in or out of the bag. The top of each of the bottom three sections is fitted with a polymeric grommet through which the elastic cord passes. After only a few uses, the grommet on the bottom section separated and became stuck inside the mating tube of the section above it. That has made this joint very hard to separate when wanting to fold the cane. With the extensive use given on our cruise the last couple of weeks, the same thing has happened in the other sections, but they are still coming apart fairly easily. The contoured handle fits my hand well and remained comfortable even over some extensive walking tours of several mile duration over cobblestones and steps. The black paint HAS gotten a bit dinged up revealing a lighter color underneath, but it is easily touched up with a black permanent marker. All in all, I am quite pleased with this cane. I deducted one star due to the need to readjust the length to use the storage bag, and for the grommets coming loose.
