The best way to fix a stuffed animal PERIOD!!!!
Not long ago, I put my small stuffed elephant in the wash with a large blanket. When I removed it from the dryer along with the blanket, I noticed a small tear on its right ear. At first I would attempt to learn how to sew and fix its ear manually, but since I bought it used about a year ago, I wasn’t sure how long the repair would last. Then I remembered seeing Bish’s Tear Mender on a tv shopping channel a few years back and I figured that I would give it a shot. Granted I considered other fabric glues based on product reviews here on Amazon and YouTube reviews but with this product being around almost for 100 years, I figured this would be the best glue for the job. Once I received it, I put a small amount of the tear mender in a small disposable plastic bathroom cup and used a toothpick and a QTip to fix the tear on my elly’s right ear. Overall the product was easy to use and it held strong even 24 hours after initial application. It had a slight smell but not too bad as to open up a window. So about three weeks in, I decided to give my friend another washing. As you can see by the pictures, the tear mender still holds strong even after being put in the washer and dryer on warm and cold water and medium heat to dry. Overall the functionality of this product and the overall hold made it a real winner in my book. Thus if you are looking for a good way to fix your little one’s favorite stuffed toy without using a needle and thread, I highly recommend Tear Mender. It is the best way to fix a stuffed animal and any tears in fabric PERIOD!!!! It definitely does what it says on the bottle!!!!

Great to repair holes in cotton work jeans and shirts
Works great to repair holes or tears in jeans. I like to put the patches on the inside of the jeans as I think it looks a lot better. Turn the pants leg inside out, put wax paper on hidden side of hole to keep glue from going through the hole, cut a patch from other sacrificial jeans, apply glue to patch but keep it away from where the actual hole or tear is by folding the patch in half and applying glue to the half facing you first , unfold and press patch with fingers then fold back the other half and apply glue then unfold again and press with your fingers to smooth the patch flat. Doing it this way makes it easier to avoid putting the glue on the patch right where the hole or tear is. The glue dries quickly. If you want to apply additional glue to the inside of the edges to hold them down be very careful to apply a small amount and spread with a toothpick under the edge. It is easy and it goes through the wash without peeling off. You want to try and avoid having any glue run out through the tear or hole to the outside of the pants because it will create a rubbery stain, Keep the glue between the inside of the pants and the patch and you will have a nice looking mending job. I find the patches to be very durable on cotton material through many wash cycles. It will work for shirts too but with thinner material you need to be more careful that the glue does not soak through to the outside of the shirt so I advise putting the glue on thinner by spreading it with a disposable laytex or nitril rubber glove or plastic squeegee and letting it dry a few seconds before slapping down the patch and pressing in with your fingers. If the patch does start to come up around the edges at some point you can apply more glue. A tip for patching blown out knees. Extend the patch vertically 6 inches above and below the hole. If you make the patch too small after awhile the material will wear out at the edge between the patch and the pants leg and tear there but if you extend the patch further up and down the pant leg there will be less stress on the pant leg material there and less likely to create a new tear. I have been doing this for years and I would say I get on average an additional 50 percent of life out of my jeans before I call it quits. One bottle will patch a lot of jeans so the savings are tremendous. You can also make a patch for the edge of your front pockets where I hang a tape measure that frays the seam there after awhile. You can also patch holes inside your pockets.

Worked at mending
Worked well at mending/ sealing the leather closed. But left a rough and rubbery feel on the spot.

Great product - well worth the price
This stuff is GREAT! My husband had asked me to mend a hole in his jeans pocket where he'd worn it through. My sewing machine can't handle denim, and I'm not sure I had the skills to make a patch that he'd be willing to wear out of the house! So, I ordered some of this to try it out. It cannot be easier - just watch the video the product mfg provides. You just shake it well, spread it on both pieces of fabric if it is thick (like jeans), or just one side for thinner fabric. Put them together, and magic happens - it makes a bond that is just as strong as anything you could possibly do. I ended up cutting a patch out of other old jeans that was slightly smaller than his pocket, and gluing it INSIDE the pocket. Yes, you can see the frayed hole, but the pocket is back to better-than-original condition for holding his stuff (ranges from billfold to tools to phone). He liked it so much he asked that I line the pockets of his other work jeans too, before they wore through, because the pocket was so much stronger. I love this stuff, and will always have it around. Not sure how long a bottle will last after it is opened, but well worth the cost. Note for allergy sufferers: I did have to be careful. After the first pocket, I was reading the ingredients better to see if I could glue a cardboard leg back on a cat toy. It has latex in it! I use gloves now when working with it, as I am allergic to latex. (Yes, I was itchy as all get out last time I used it, but never associated it with the glue.) And hint - on the cat bed, I decided to try using a piece of FABRIC between the leg and the bed (one of those cardboard scratcher round beds) - worked like a charm! The leg is back on, strong as ever, and the fabric bonded to the cardboard with this product. It just wouldn't bond cardboard-to-cardboard. I've also used it on ribbons to fabric, and that works great as well.

Good product when it isn’t dried up
This company needs to work on sealing their products better. I have ordered recently and gotten 2 that were not sealed well and all dried out. It is very disappointing when you open a brand new bottle and it’s dried out. When it is liquid and not a rubbery solid then it will pretty much permanently keep your jean patches together. It doesn’t look the nicest when it’s dried but it gets the job done and keeps my construction working husband from having to buy new jeans all of the time (when the ones he had might be fine just had a hole in an odd or uncomfortable spot).

Good for some things, tricky to use, easy to screw up
I don't know why others say this dries clear or is tan/brown. My bottle dries white. If the patch is to be purely functional and you don't care how it looks, this works well. If you are applying something to the surface (a badge, etc.) this would work if one is very careful -- see below. But if it is for an item that you care about, extreme care must be taken when using this to make sure that, when finished, not a single tiny drop is visible on the outside of the garment, or you will have a white splotch. If the fabric is at all open weave -- even a normal cotton -- you have to be really careful and only use a tiny amount or it will bleed through. If the fabric is at all sheer, this doesn't work at all. I have found no way to remove excess from fabric once it touches, even if I try to remove it immediately. The product is very thin and liquid, so the squeeze bottle top is useless; you just can't control it enough. I pour some out and use a toothpick to apply to the fabric. Again, use absolutely the smallest amount and thinnest layer you can, or you risk having it bleed through. If you get bleed through or have any excess showing, I have not found any way to remove it from the fabric. A lot of my clothes are black, and I have done some adequate touch up with a Industrial Sharpie (which is different from a regular Sharpie) but it would be hopeless with any other color cloth. I would never use this for anything that could be done with a needle and thread (hems, etc) simply because there is too much risk of bleeding through. However, there are those things (tears, etc) where this is the best option, but be very careful. Despite the apparent per oz. cost saving of the larger bottle, it probably isn't worth purchasing. You only use a tiny amount per repair. The container says it is best to use within a year of purchase, and when I recently opened the container, which I have had less than a year, there was a blob of solid latex filling the top half of the container. I did pull it out, and there was liquid below, which I used, but I don't yet know if that remaining liquid was viable. It seems to have held, but it's been too soon to tell if it will last. And, when pulling out the congealed latex, it really made a mess, so if I ever try that again I will do it at the bottom of a deep sink or bucket.

It does what the producer said.
I use it to glue tennis table rubbers because is latex based and is very easy to remove the glue from rubber.
