However, these are great in that they can be daisy chained to get distance and coverage. They are much better than the ones recommended by my steno software company for room recordings. I would highly recommend these for hearings and depositions were you have a long table. I believe they would be great in most courtrooms as well but again, location, location, location.... You need to make sure you are within 15 ft of the speakers. I think you will like these, give them a try. **Q: Can this microphone be used on a commercial type mixer, with phantom power? Also, how long is the cable?** A: The mixer would need to have a 3.5 mm TRS plug AND provide 1.5 - 5 volts back to the mic. Our mixer does not provide this type of power to the 1/4" inputs. To get around this, we daisy chain six of the Olympus ME-33 mics to the Tascam DR-70D. Its 3.5 mm input does provide sufficient power to power all six Olympus ME-33 mics without a loss in sensitivity.
