Stops the stink!
My air conditioning smelt terrible - like something damp was in the system. I used this product as per the instructions and 2 days later my car no longer stinks! I think the product is overpriced however.

Does what it says on the tin ( I think)
I guess it did the job, but really, how would I know?Really easy and quick to use. The fragrant smell didn't last as long as with others I've used, but as it gave my missus a headache, maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Doesnโt work
Donโt waste your money, followed the instructions as per the packet. I left in car for 15 mins & it had stopped dispensing but when I went to take out the car it was still half full! If you presssed the top down it would start dispensing again but would not in the locked position so in my case totally useless
User
Might want to test it on an older system than mine.
I followed the instructions and got a result. My car is fully electric and it still has that new car smell, 3500miles, and so I didn't expect any serious difference after use. There was and still is a different odour, it speaks lightly of open fields and I'm hoping it holds up to its promise of killing any build up of bacteria in the system, I have a recurring chest problem.

Okay but not great
Easy to follow all the instructions, doesn't leave a nasty or strong smell which is a positive. On the downside, the container doesn't fully empty, when I picked it up at the end there was still some easily audible amount of product inside and by just moving the container it starts squirting it. I have rubber mats, so it was very noticeable that the product doesn't fully vaporise as it had accumulated down the mat and even stained the box that is used as a base; if you don't have rubber mats it will probably just get soaked into your mats. I did shake the bottle well, placed at the correct angle and not against the mat or walls, everything as per the instruction manual. I may try a different one in the future.

Done the job

Impressed. Easy to use
Used this on my 2007 RS4 and it was really easy. Make sure the can is warm or at room temp. Give it a good shake and place in the carton as stated. Then push underneath passenger footwell ensuring it no directed at the carpet. Leaves a lovely fresh smell and feel more confident that there are no nasties in my vents.

Disappointing
I bought one can, and following the instructions, I needed to watch their video as the text on the packaging was not 100% clear. It is hard to push in the nozzle to get it to latch on in the open position, needs a bit of force. It emptied about half the can then stopped and when i picked it up to remove it, it started squirting liquid out in spurts, not as a mist. So I left it outside to empty itself before throwing it in the recycling bin. I spoke to Autoglym about this and they kindly sent me another can, which worked normally. However, although the interior smelled very lemony afterwards, once the smell faded from the upholstery, it was evident that the odour (which I can't use a polite farmyard term to describe as it is against Amazon's rules about abuse and this is the 3rd review I've written as the other 2 reviews were removed by Amazon) remained but slightly less than before. I contacted Autoglym again and they wrote:'If the air-conditioning system has not been used for long periods of time the product can assist to overcome the odours but in some cases due to inactivity of the air con system or lack of routine maintenance bacteria can grow within the system. In this instance the product will only be able to help to a certain degree, if the odours continue to return it would be an indication that bacteria may be present and to rectify the issue would be to have the system professionally serviced and re-gassed. Most manufactures would advise that the air con is serviced every two years as part of the servicing schedule and during the service sanitising products would be added to the system, also according to some service schedules the Pollen filter would also be changed as this can also this can affect air flow performance especially if it remains unchanged for a period of time. The Air Con Sanitiser is a great product to work alongside maintaining the system in-between servicing and can be used every 6 months to help freshen but can be used more regularly if required.'The car had been sitting for 8 months during the winter for repairs, and I had it regassed shortly before using the sanitiser. The cabin carbon microfilters were brand new at the time before the car was laid up for 8 months so have hardly had any mileage on them. So in my opinion this product is underwhelming and has some quality issues. Then they said 'A XXXXX smell in yours car's air conditioning is likely due to bacteria buildup in the system, the smell can also be a sign of a deeper issue, such as a clogged AC drain line or something trapped inside the vehicle, the Air-Con Sanitiser will only eliminate with the help of an air con conditioning deodoriser, regular maintenance and cleaning will help prevent these odours. I can only recommend seeking advise from a professional, as we can confirm this is not an error to the product, this will help mask and of course sanitise the vehicle.'So they were blaming something trapped in the air con system or a clogged drain plug, which is unlikely given it was working fine before the car was parked up for 8 months without using the a/c.
