HELLA 012588071 Black 92mm 12V Disc Horn (Ht Universal Fit-Single Blister Pack)

Got tired of the weak beep beep on my Janus Halcyon 450. There was no way anyone could hear it in traffic so I started researching other options. I've put the larger air horns on other bikes but I really didn't want to go the extra wiring and relay route it take on those higher amperage horns. Hella has always made quality products and this horn is no exception. It's well made, much larger than my stock horn and mounts in the same spot with the stock bolt. The stock connectors fit snugly and require no special polarity on a single horn. The Hella draws about 3.5 amps and will work with most small gauge wiring used on most motorcycle horns without worry of melting wiring. It's not as loud as the larger horns that draw much more power and require a relay, but its way louder than my stock horn. I was very pleased with the results and it was a worthy upgrade for very little cash and effort.

Purchased as a replacement for my KLR650 horn that's sounding a little tweety and thin. Not a direct swap, this new horn is a little thicker and the threaded mounting shaft is too short so it won't go in the OEM mounting location, but I was able to bend the included mounting tab 90 degrees and there's a mounting screw in the frame next to the stock position, fit in perfectly. Sits about 3/4" higher than stock, wiring terminals are the same as stock, they slipped right on. Oh man, is this thing loud. I might have to put a piece of cardboard or plastic over the top of it to focus the sound forward and away from my ears so I don't startle myself. Seriously, easily twice as loud as the OEM and a thicker, punchier sound. HELLA quality, hella good, hella loud.

My horn went out on the GSXR. This was my first replacement purchase and it was a great choice. This thing is loud, but I guess it would be for a motorcycle. Cars move now when I hit the horn. Super simple to install; it took me 5 minutes. The one problem I had was that the connectors( two metal slits) were a little far apart and I had to spike my two connectors apart. No biggie though. It is an old bike so I didn’t care, but for a new bike I wouldn’t have been so willing to do this. Other than that, it’s a great horn for the price.

This is a LOUD Horn... I replaced my little 105dB Scooter Horn that no vehicles ever heard, and this one will for SURE make my presence known to other vehicles. Safety is a big concern riding in the city, and Motorcycles and Scooters are invisible to cars and trucks... Not anymore! Great Horn!

Loud horn seems to be well made

Probably a great replacement if you actually get a full 12v at the horn. If you don't (like any motorcycle from the 90's on back), it doesn't make any noise at all. Can be made to work with a direct line from the battery to a relay but that will cost twice as much as a different horn....

Does what it is supposed to

Maybe it needs a relay to reach full volume, but I don't notice any difference on my Yamaha Tenere 700; certainly not enough to justify the price and hassle.

Decent horn, easy to install. It lasted 3 years before it died on my 2012 Honda civic.

Llegó bien empaquetado. Lo compre para un Nissan March solo, quite el anterior y puse el nuevo y funcionó, el sonido es igual al de agencia, se escucha muy bien en el ruido del tráfico, aguanta el polvo y la lluvia, sin duda lo recomiendo.

This horn works very well. Louder than OEM horn on classic British motorcycle .
