If you're in the market for a new digital watch, look no further. You've found it!
I've bought numerous watches over the years, and could never find one that fit my needs exactly: that one didn't have a digital watch-face, this one's band was too thick, and another one's watch-face was just too big. I would buy another watch in about 2-3 months because I wasn't able to find something that consistently worked for me AND fit my price range. This was about the 5th or 6th time I was buying a watch in a year, and I was more than ready to be done with watch-shopping. So, hearing good things about Timex from several friends, I decided to give yet another watch (this time a more trusted brand) a chance. And boy, am I glad I did.I have been SO impressed by this Marathon. The watch band is neither too small or big, and the watch face is small enough that it doesn't dig into my arm if I bend my wrist.I've almost never taken the watch off in the time since I bought it, and it's none the worse for wear. It's come with me multiple times in the shower, a pool, and even a lake, perfectly keeping time after each. The battery has never stopped or malfunctioned either, something I've experienced with countless other digital watches. One important thing to note: The owner's manual (which can be found here: http://assets.timex.com/manual/W-292.pdf ) says you should NOT press any of the timer/set-up/indiglo buttons while in water. Because I followed this advice, my watch has continued to work after being underwater. Use common sense!I also love the alarm and glow-in-the-dark features. What better way to wake up than hear a friendly traditional beeping noise and shove your glowing watch in your face to make sure you haven't lost your job because of tardiness? :D All jokes aside, the alarm noise is perfect if you need something loud to rouse a deep sleeper. Yes, it's harsher than something you would find on a smartphone, but it works! And the glow-in-the-dark face is super handy. In conclusion? There's a reason Timex is a trusted brand. Decent watch for the price, some weird features
I buy this watch (or a very similar model, sometimes the marathon is not available in which case I'll buy the 1440 or whatever I can find at a similar price and which functions similarly) approximately every 3 years because that's about how long it lasts. Usually the battery dies (and it's so inexpensive, it's easier to just get a new one than to get the battery changed, plus changing the battery can affect the waterproofness I've heard), but one time the strap pretty much disintegrated, breaking into 3 pieces as I put it on one morning. I would rather pay $15-$20 for a watch every 2 years and not have to worry about scratching it up, as I would if I had a more expensive watch.I like this watch because it matches all the features that are important to me: it's digital (not analog), it has a small profile, it gets small enough to fit on my very small wrist, and it is water resistant. I also like the purple color, and the date, stopwatch, hourly chime, alarm and Indiglo light features. I don't wear it in the shower but I have gone swimming while wearing it (not lap swimming but just splashing around in a pool) and it's been fine, and I get it wet while washing dishes all the time. This watch loses half a star because it consistently only lasts 3 years (I've had maybe 4 watches at this point and it's consistent) whereas the limited warranty is only for one year so I always just have to buy a new one. This watch loses another half star because it has this weird world clock feature- it's a T2 setting where you can choose a different time to set your watch (I think you only choose the hour, not the minutes, so it's for a different time zone or something). However, I find this pretty useless, and yet when I want to use other settings, I have to pass it, and it's kind of just in the way. Another weird thing, which is not necessarily good or bad, is that if you go to a setting other than the main time, after awhile (maybe 30 seconds) it will go back to the main time setting, unless you're on stopwatch and the stopwatch is running. This is not bad, but I was confused for awhile because I would know I left it on a certain setting but I'd look at the watch and it was back on the main screen. Also, I really wish this watch had a timer.

My second watch just like this.
I love this watch. As my headline indicates this is the 2nd one which is identical to my old one. However, it is a good thing I had my old instructions on how to set the time, date, etc. because no instructions were included. I was hoping my old instructions would work and they did. Otherwise, this is a great watch and I highly recommend it. Please be sure to include instructions, though. : )

Nice intro running watch
Bought for a beginning fitness runner of my acquaintance, who needed something to a) tell the time b) track how long she'd been running today. So no super-advanced functions required. This also meets the requirement of not looking "all girly". The purple decoration ring is low-key, and the whole thing could be worn as a day watch. If I have a niggle is that the design of the bezel means that the button-function labels (which are tiny) are a long way from the buttons, so it'll take a while of getting used to in good light. Pretty standard Timex/Casio operations though, so it should be fine.

Excellent watch for running ladies
I have started running again after many years (and two babies) and wanted a simple, stylish watch I could take on my runs. Aside from date-time, it has one alarm, stopwatch, and a second timezone's time. The button on the lower right is for light. The face is just under 3cm across, and not big for this petite person's arm. Looks so good, I wear it to work or anywhere not requiring formal wear. There are no frills like GPS, but that would be another category altogether and another price range. Overall, very satisfied with the purchase.

Great sports watch
Great little watch, very easy to use. Stop watch function very useful and comfortable to wear.I have had 3 of these watches (in different colours). Not the most heavy duty watch, the first watch I bought I wore constantly and got it wet and sweaty every day. After about 1 year, the coloured panels fell of and then became non-water proof, but for that price I just bought another one. The third watch I bought has lasted really well as I wear this one much more occasionally for training at the gym and it's been great so far and is still going strong.

No 24 hour clock available on this watch! So disappointing!
Love these watches. This is my third and my son has had two. Timing very reliable. However, this one will not allow me to put it on 24 hour clock. Followed the instructions as per the leaflet but this facility does not work at all. This is poor as it was advertised as 24 hour clock.

One to watch
Love my watch, wearing as I review. Very practical watch, easy to use and read and not too big, is very feminine looking. Nice sturdy strap and feels secure on the wrist, the nightlight feature is great and the Timex name is always the one for value and dependability. Speedily delivered and well packaged, an absolute bargain.
