Q: Can it fit 3 children's outfit under the age of eight and one cubby

I believe so. The cubbies have enough room even after I place their shirt, shorts, underwear, and socks.

Q: Are the "shelves" sturdy or do they droop into the compartment below?

There's probably heavy cardboard between each day. They don't really droop into the compartments below for our 2-year-old grandson's daily outfits, but I'm sure if you put something heavy enough on each shelf, they'd droop. What were you planning to put on the shelves? As a retired teacher, I could have easily used this for sorting lesson plans, papers, etc - but wouldn't have put books on the shelves! Does this answer your question? I'm very satisfied with the quality for the price!

Q: For anyone that got a defective product, did they fix it or replace the item?

I did not have a defective one. Works great and if you buy from prime they will refund or replace

Q: How do u hook it up? To the door wall what?

It has one hook that would hang in your closet. The hooks rounded and there’s only one so it’s most likely the best and intended place for it. It would fall off of a door or wall.
