Nice book
After receiving the book, I was more than pleased with the condition the book was in. No dinks, scratches, nothing (as it was wrapped in plastic). As for the size of the book, it is not too small, comparably the size of the kindle (Kindle fire I believe), therefore is easy to take with you anywhere. The quality of the book is good; the pages are not thin so they will not rip easily (under any normal stress). As for the information within the book, I have yet to read it, however from skimming through it, it appears to have a lot of visual aids and covers a wide array of concepts and ocular related pathology.

Great resource for understanding common ophthalmologic conditions
This is an excellent book for medical students and/or primary care providers in learning the basics of ophthalmology. I used it as a reference throughout my medicine and ophthalmology rotations. The book is easy to read and filled with images. In addition, each chapter contains a short question bank to test your knowledge. Book was in excellent condition and arrived right on time!

Actually, my 30 year old son is switching careers from computer Information Security (IS) to, hopefully, a Physicians Assistant (PA). Someplace I have to get the him the ability to use the online student guides that go along with the book! But to quote him, pun and all, "it has been a real eye opener).Robert Ellenwood Son is James Robert Ellenwood. Prefers "JR Ellenwood"

Must have been labeled " advanced primary care ophtamology"
This book provides excellent needed Data to famiy physician and is not " basic"!Every page I learned 1-2 very important points. Even recent images and studies that I had not got the concept in residency and or imaging techniques that have just come to provide care was presented. Very easy to read and has excellent diagrams and explains things in my language . Even has easy tests in the end of each chapter.Thank you very much. I am reading the book for second time.

I am from Recife in Brazil south america and i loved this book.
hi there i am Claudio A.G.Monteiro Filho, M.D. and I was in Toronto last year, and I picked up this book from their university bookstore, Somebody told me there, that it's the main book that they used over there, for medical students, At the University of Toronto in Canada. At any rate, Every book from the American Academy of ophthalmology is great in general to me, this book i would say is pretty basic, but it's very neat, well organized and straight to the point, I'm from Recife in Brazil South America, and I really recommend this book for the beginning medical Student.

Concise, good overview of ophthalmology for anyone requiring an introduction to this topic. A good reference for any future family physician in my view. As a suggestion for improvements, I would be more explicit (for example, by adding arrows) as to what we should be looking at in the pictures in order to identify the pathology. Summary tables in the format of disease definition, pathology, presenting signs and symptoms, treatment and follow-up would be a great addition as well, in order to maximize retention.
